There is also now from today a new REPLY button that should show up next to 'Quote' in every members post.
This just makes it that bit easier to reply rather than having to be at the top or the bottom of the thread to reply.
Previously 'Reply' was just at the top of the thread at the end of the title bar and at the very bottom after the most recent post.
This may seem obvious but...
Use Reply to just post a reply to the thread in general, it will not link to the post you click Reply on.
Use Quote if you wish to have a previous post link into your reply, it shows up in a blue box above your post. You should type your own response below the [/quote] box.
Using QUOTE makes your post a specific response to the post of another user so you can direct your response to that user.
You do have the option of deleting parts of the previous users post/making edits to the Quote, such as removing unnecessary lines so that you can respond to a specific part of the member's post directly if you wish.
I have also changed the colour of the Quote and Reply buttons to blue so they stand out a bit more and match the forum.
There is also a new Quick Reply box that will show at the bottom of each thread.
So you now have the option of clicking 'Reply' as you make your way down through the posts like we currently do anyway
Or
You can scroll to the bottom of the thread and start typing in the Quick Reply Box and then hit 'Post Quick Reply' to submit your post. If you click 'Reply' in the top right corner of the 'Quick Reply' box it will take you to the full reply page that we are all used to.
You can of course still 'Quote' a user by clicking 'Quote' above their post. (see further Quote instructions in the previous post)
You cannot add attachments using Quick Reply so it is best used for what it says - quick replies!
