Week 31 turned out to be the lowest scoring week of the season so far. Only 29 points scored, with only one player getting more than a single correct prediction.
There was only one draw in the 10 matches and that was Brentford v Derby. Well done kingfisher and minxymartin for picking this one.
There were two home wins, by Everton and Birmingham. Both were unexpected results and no-one predicted either of them.
That left 7 away wins. Ten players picked Huddersfield's defeat to Leicester: QPRBex, Rosco Bosco, singlespeed, qprallan, ranger-boy, surrey chad, kensalr, QPRSmith, stoatey and me. minxymartin picked Bolton's defeat to Ipswich. Nobody predicted Newcastle's loss to Palace, Blackburn's loss to Stoke, Preston's loss to Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed's loss to Villa or Hearts' loss to Hibs.
That leaves minymartin as top scorer with 4 points. A good effort in a week of carnage.
Eleven players gained 2-3 points for a single correct prediction, ten of those thanks to Huddersfield's continued struggles.
Six players failed to score, including 3 of the top 4. So my 2 points lift me to within 3 points of LurkR and 8 clear of MCM Hoop. With 4 rounds to go MCM Hoop is just about in contention but an 11 point gap to LurkR is a big ask.
Singlespeed moves up to 4th, a point ahead of northwesthoop and 2 ahead of Rosco Bosco.
The mid-table is very tight with 6 players separated by 5 points from ashqpr in 7th to qprallan in 12th.
CutePR is 13th and savoyhoop 14th in spite of not playing for the last 6 weeks.
The battle to avoid the wooden spoon is looking like a 5-way fight. QPRSmith remains bottom in spite of picking up 3 points. One point ahead is ranger-boy who scored 2. SydneyR is also in the thick of it, only 2 points ahead of QPRSmith and one ahead of ranger-boy. Surrey chad and stoatey both picked up points but are not safe.
