Post Derby
And so with 2 games remaining we are officially safe and will be playing in the Championship next season - it will already be our 5th consecutive season in the second tier.
Despite being safe we do drop 2 places to 19th following the 2-0 defeat at Derby; our lowest position since Match 10 of the season when we lost 3-0 away at Swansea at the end of September.
There is a real chance we could finish as low as 21st just outside the drop zone and we now cannot finish higher than 16th.
We also can no longer even equal last seasons total points tally of 56 points. The best we can manage is 54 points.
As mentioned in the last stats update unless we can find 2 points from the last 2 games this will be our worst season points wise since 2005/2006 when we finished 21st with 50 points.
The defeat at Derby means we have only won 2 of our last TWENTY league matches. 10% wins in that sequence. There have been 13 defeats in those 20 games. Abysmal.
Geoff Cameron returned after missing the last 2 games. Remember he was a key man earlier in the season - and remains the player with the most positive appearance to defeat ratio (29% defeats) - however we have now even failed to win in his last 7 appearances either side of his injury.
Matt Smith tots up his 14th individual league appearance in a row without being on the winning side.
Toni Leistner failed to appear in consecutive matches for the first time since joining the club.
Angel Rangel has missed 3 of the 6 matches played since he returned to the fold. Are injuries going to harm his chances of a deal for next season?
