I agree with a some of what you have both put as the approach has been wrong at times and we have been naive BUT I totally disagree that Warburton has no Plan B.
He has played 4-2-3-1 then 3-5-2, recently we went 4-1-2-1-2 with a diamond and then 4-1-3-2 like on Saturday. If anything he has tried too many plans as he has struggled to find his best 11 and shape.
For me the issue that Warburton struggles with is that once he starts with one of the formations (his Plan A) he struggles to change things to suit the circumstances of the game. He is blinkered into one way of playing and as mentioned previously it was proved on Saturday. Instead of adopting an I'm happy to take a 2 -1 win with 10 minutes to go he decided to continue playing a more open and risky game that subsequently back fired.
I have no issue starting the game 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-3-2 because that is his Plan A but surely he should have some advance plan to change things to suit the circumstances of the game. Whether you win a game 2 -1 or 3-1 it only gets you 3 points. Not since bringing on Leistner against Wigan have I seen him make a game winning substitution. At that time I couldn't make up my mind whether it was tactical genius or luck but I have no doubt it was just luck.
