Warburton Official

This might sound strange after some of the things I say about Warburton but I do like him and there is no doubt that he should be our manager.

Warburton can only work with the players he has got available and our squad is below average. We have a few decent players but the majority are not good enough for a Championship team. Hopefully, the board will give him some money to spend in the summer and as a result he can get some better defenders but most of all a leader.

I can see him trying to get a player or two into the squad in January but it will be either loans or free transfers.

I might question his tactics because in most cases I can do it with hindsight. The football that Warburton plays is exciting and can be great to watch, my point is that you don't have to play that way all the time. It might be that Warburton is so aware that the defence is poor he thinks that attack is the better option.

Wouldn't it be great if we could invite him onto this site and get him to open up about some of the tactics he uses.

Generally ok and we play very good to watch open football,but you can’t play the same if you play a team like Brentford
Plan B doesn’t seem to come and we end up getting a hiding
He’s damn lucky also having players like eze, BOS and barbet
But he’s had a limited budget and got some good players in but also some very average
Overall I like the guy and we wouldn’t get much better on our budget and FFP restrictions
But we play some great football at times,it really is a joy to watch

He’s massively improved in his tactical decisions
But in some games we got tore apart and unfortunately it always against teams like Brentford,but we all have bad days
I personally thought our momentum was so good before our premature end of the season that we could of nicked a play off place

kingfisher you seem to be forgetting that we had to endure McClaren between Ollie and Warburton!

Warburton is an adequate manager who has no plan B. He has one way of playing which is 4-2-3-1 and that he has played in 23 games, winning 10. If due to injuries or suspensions he has to play a slightly different formation then everything really does fall apart because in the 16 games he didn't set up with his 4 -2-3-1 we have won just 4 of 16 games.

You only have to look at this seasons record books to see that :

We can't defend set pieces
We make too many individual errors
We make too many fouls in dangerous areas
We are poor defensively and are poor against creative players

Warburton repeats his mistakes, is too set in his ways and is easily out thought by the opposition.

Whilst Warburton might play attractive football what's the point if you lose more than you win. Warnock played entertaining football and instilled a winning mentality.

Luckily for Warburton, Wells scored goals plus Eze and BOS have blossomed (it would have happened whether Warbuton was here or not because they were all doing well in patches last season and progression happens.) but in reality the Championship is made up of some very poor teams so anybody can beat anybody.

Warburton appears better than some of our previous managers and he has done well with a lack of funds but is that because we are measuring him against some very mediocre managers that the club have had since TF took charge?
