Ultimate QPR Team World Cup
Over the last 2 summers we voted for the best and worst QPR kits of all time in a knockout voting competition.
This summer we are voting for the Ultimate QPR Team!
You may have seen Polls on Twitter and other social media – this will work the same but on our website. Please spread the word and let's get as many R’s fans voting as possible!
You will need to register to vote; it is free and takes literally a minute by clicking HERE. Once registered you stay logged in whenever you visit the site in future and it means you can then vote all throughout the competition in the later rounds and share in the fun and debate the choices!
Last summer we asked our users to submit their personal favourite QPR players. All the player names collected are now up for consideration to form the Ultimate QPR Team.
We will vote for the ultimate player in each position; 1 goalkeeper, 1 right back, 1 left back, 2 central defenders, 2 central midfielders, 2 wingers/attacking midfielders and 2 strikers/forwards (more on the format below)
Each player has been allocated to the position they played the majority of games in for QPR. For example Clint Hill was selected last year by users as a left back or a centre back. But for the purpose of this vote he will be in the centre back category.
Each player has then been given a number and drawn at random into groups using random.org sequence generator.
There will be some shocks and surprises as we go through as the random draw throughout will mean some players won’t make it as far as you may think if they are drawn alongside other standout names – just like a real world cup.
But we will end up with the Ultimate QPR Team as voted for by you! Please share your views and reasons for your votes in each Group as you vote.
You are voting in each group for the player you deem to be your personal Ultimate QPR player in that position.
The format:
Goalkeepers = there are 8 goalkeepers that have been drawn into 2 groups of 4 for Round 1. The top 2 from each group will go through to the head to head semi finals with the winners going through to face off in the final
Right Back = there were only 6 right backs nominated so Round 1 will consist of 2 groups of 3 players. The winner of each group will go through to the Final.
Left Back = there were only 6 left backs nominated so Round 1 will consist of 2 groups of 3 players. The winner of each group will go through to the Final.
Centre Backs = We had 14 nominated centre backs. Round 1 will consist of 2 groups each containing 7 players. The top 4 from each group will go through to the semi finals of 2 groups each containing 4 players. The top 2 from each semi final will go through to the final of 4 players competing for the 2 centre back positions.
Centre Midfielders = We have 12 nominated central midfielders. They will face off in Round 1 in 2 groups each containing 6 names. The top 3 in each group will progress to the semi finals which will be 2 groups of 3 names. The top 2 from each semi final will go through to the final of 4 players competing for the 2 central midfield positions.
