we go on discussing the absence of both Wallace and McCallum
there was a way we could have got past this
it was called the january transfer window and bringing in a left back that will be fit for each game
I agree Tomcat75 and I think there are many fans who would agree. Only Warburton knows why we didn't sign somebody but I would imagine it had something to do with the club hierachy mentioning,
(i) Finances and FFP (ii) having Odubajo, Barbet and Nico as replacements who can all play that role (some better than other's).
In todays game everything now revolves around FFP and I reluctantly agree that its a necessary control . I suspect the club is keeping its powder dry until the next transfer window when bargains could be available .
Something will have to be done before the start of next season because Mccallum will have returned to Norwich , Niko will be released, Wallace could also be released and only Barbet knows if he will still be here.
As is often the case on this Forum, @tomcat75 & stoatey you are both right!
We do need a better LWB than is currently permanently signed (younger and faster); and the January transfer window obviously offered nothing suitable. We do also need to consider the dilemma facing the club - hire for the next season in the Championship or for the PL? There is a difference in terms of required experience and probably the wages too! I suspect the scouts are out covering both options...

Lee Wallace has retired.
I'm surprised he didn't get another season or 2 in Scotland but he must still be struggling with injuries and it's been clean from past comments he has his sights set on management.

Another case, like Roger Federer, where the desire is there but the body is not. I will be interested to see how Lee gets on as, I guess, a coach first of all and then a manager. Good luck to him!
