I don't mind him signing players from north of the border, he obviously knows what he will get, a bit like when Warnock brought in Hill and Derry and Kenny.
Wallace was Rangers captain until he fell out with the manager, he is an experienced head so could be a wise move.
Signings like this were inevitable given Banfield was working as a scout for Rangers in the past 12 months so again we should know what we are getting.
This may be a case of knowing these players more than he knows ours, but it could equally be that these two use the ball the way Warburton wants. Makes sense but does make me wonder where that leaves Lumley, who has come up through the ranks and has come good....
If Lee Wallace is anywhere near as good as he was a couple of seasons ago - when he was the best left back in Scotland before the emergence of Kieran Tierney - he will be a very good acquisition.
Liam Kelly has done really well this season - given that Ingram and Dieng are both likely to be gone this summer, we can't pin all our hopes on Lumley, despite his improvement.
If we had millions to spend, these prospective signings might perhaps be underwhelming. Given the serious financial constraints Warburton is having to operate under these are probably as good as we can expect in the circumstances. Guarded optimism.
Now, if he can address more pressing concerns for a centre back and forward...
I think warburton is like warnock He tends to sign his past players wherever he’s a manager at We will definitely have a Scottish flavour to us next season
We desperately need an experienced left sided defender and Wallace is a left back who at 31yo might now be past his peak but will bring plenty of experience to our back line. As said elsewhere he was captain at Rangers and I hope he brings some of those on field leadership qualities that we badly need.
In respect of Liam Kelly I like the fact that he is a highly rated young keeper and if the reports are true he will be an asset who clearly meets the current QPR criteria of buying young and then selling at a profit. We know that Dieng is about to leave and we know that Ingram still needs to prove himself. There were whispers that Lumley was being chased by Bristol City and it might be further down the track than we are currently aware. Even if Lumley doesn't go it will be great to see 2 young keepers jostling for the goalkeeping jersey.
Wallace is 32 but that’s not that old in the championship An experienced head and leader on the pitch hopefully Kelly a very promising keeper and bye bye to Ingram I’m afraid now Just think we will have a very Scottish feel to the team now as more will come on board, warburton likes his old players and they are cheap from the Scottish leagues Both players could prove a bargain and I heard Wallace is even taking a pay cut to be with us

Wallace also now confirmed; a busy day at Loftus Road (whoops am I allowed to say that?)
I like this signing. Reminds me of when Clint Hill joined - same position, similar age, most fans will be underwhelmed but he sounds like a very good pro.
I like this quote from Warburton:
"He governed the dressing room (at Rangers) and set the standards in the right way."
Could become our captain too I guess as he was at Rangers.
If we have a young side We will need a leader on and off the field I’ve heard he’s a good solid player who will hopefully prove a good addition to our squad
We have lacked a real on pitch leader for a number of years and if he can galvanise the team when things get tough then he will do for me. A player who can lead and inspire the rest of the team is worth his weight in gold and is the type of person that you want because he gains the respect of all his team mates.
If we can now sign a proven goalscorer then things will certainly look a even brighter.
Good to see that Lee Wallace is starting for the U23 side against Palace today.
Not sure if he suffered another injury but after getting 45 minutes against Brentford B at the end of August he has been conspicuous by his absence in the last three U23 games.
Hopefully, he will get at least another 45 minutes today and be challenging for a first team place soon.
