I think he means that we are now a selling club so all our players are available for the right price. And to be honest nobody in our current squad is a real star man so I'd say anybody could go too.

I don't disagree because every clubs players are up for sale if the price is right. The issue I have is that by announcing it to the world it makes us sound desperate. and open to low ball offers. For me it's the reason why teams like Sheffield United think they are doing us a favour by only offering £4m for Freeman.
I'm of the opinion that we should be telling clubs that we dont want to sell our best players and saying that Freeman is the player we intend building our team around. This might not be true but it might make clubs think that if they are making an offer for a QPR player it needs to be realistic.
Whilst players know they are commodities they also need to be given the message that they are part of the club and are wanted. If the DoF starts telling the media that all our players are for sale then any loyalty the players had will also disappear.

I do agree with you stoatey but I suppose the risk saying "we don't want to sell our best players" is that other clubs may say "ok" and walk away. But we need to sell somebody to keep ticking along in this FFP climate so we can't play total hardball. So it has to be balanced. It is certainly not an easy negotiation game to play, I don't envy Les!
