I'm surprised, and the fee does seem low however I dont think furlong will do to much. He never impressed me when I saw him, which admittedly wasnt to often but still.
We are a selling club who needs to sell which doesnt put us in a very strong bargaining position.
I thought with warburton in charge when he first came in We’d be assembled squad with all areas covered and we would be ready for the new season But in reality he’s bought 10 goalkeepers and defenders and we are now in a situation of who knows what’s going to happen anymore Warburton was told in his interview you will have no money to spend and you will sell any player we get a bid for
It don’t take a rocket scientist to work out we needed strikers, but 2 + 2 = a defensive player from Glasgow Rangers My theory is we are being made into a league one team and reason is we have sold our best players and let go of our big earners,we have signed players on lower earnings now and most would be lucky to make a top league one side We would have left after relegation our youngsters and a few warburton additions and all our loan players would of gone back A smaller wage bill and a team set up for league one My theory may not mean anything to anybody else and the usual pee takers on here mocking my negative comments I’m a realist and I can see what crap we are going to face this season
The only thing with that theory single is we needed defenders.... We need strikers as well and I'm sure they will come but unfortunatly goalscorers dont come cheap. I'm sure the club are working on a number of targets and I'm also sure no one at the clubs wants us to be relegated and they are not planning for it. Or at least that is not plan a b or c
More realistic is running a championship club on a shoestring budget And there’s a element of risk with us doing that
Interestingly enough today's media has listed the spending by Championship clubs so far, and QPR has £60k against its name whilst Brentford, for example, have spent £18m apparently!
