End of last season, poor pre season ,lack of new signings Failure to address our weaknesses with new players Plus Ian Holloway = relegation fight There is not a lot that are worse than us on paper We are gambling keeping it tight on budget and buying hardly anyone decent Why haven't we got on loan a promising youngster on loan from a premier league club or a fringe player Maybe our board have decided even if we go down to league one,we can rip it up and start again In a way we deserve all we get for our stupid signings when we were in the premier league and constant sacking bosses and never having stability of any sort Yes I shout for managers heads if we are doing crap or on a losing run,but it goes back to the same as it was no matter who we get in Long season ahead and I wont lose any sleep over it It's only football and we can't do a thing about it and how we will do this season We have enough players in our team to be a midtable side if they get of their backsides and show us what they got We've not bad players really but something isn't right with Us at the moment and we will maybe never know

This is the cause of my quandry. It feels like the squad needs improvement yet signings aren't always the answer.
I highlighted in reply to ranger-boy's blog we've had so many signings in recent years and not progressed at all.
More than signings we need a style of play - then only hire managers who play that way. Like Swansea did for a few years.
Our issue is every manager comes in with their own new idea and half the squad don't fit in. That means another whole host of changes and signings, most never seem to work for us, the manager gets sacked and we start the cycle again.
So that needs addressing as we go forward.
But as for the here and now I can't work out whether we simply need new faces yet again and hope they are better than what we have as we struggled last year, or stick with the team, hope Holloway can galvanise them and we consolidate. The latter may be wishful thinking, we'll know more at 5pm tonight.
