Squad Comparisons

We've been keeping up with the QPR squad (or trying to!) but with the season less than a week away I thought it was worth comparing the players we have now compared to last season. Given the amount of comings and goings it is quite interesting...
Ingram > Kelly = It looks like Lumley will start the season as Number 1 but there is no way Kelly is any worse than Ingram
Bidwell > Wallace = Both appear to be dependable, solid players so I again don't see this as us taking a step back. I have also been very impressed with Manning at left back compared to Bidwell anyway so I'm giving this a solid thumbs up, especially when we are saving a lot on Bidwell's wages
Lynch > Barbet = My dead Granny would be an improvement on Lynch so we need say no more!
Furlong > Kane = We've made a profit and could (we'll have to wait and see) actually have a better player on our hands. Kane is exactly the type of player we need to bring in for free, develop and sell on for a huge profit again when he proves his Premier League quality that must be in him for Chelsea to have him until age 25.
Baptise > Masterson = This is definitely an improvement. We now have - for free - somebody Liverpool saw as good enough at youth level and if we can develop him and he proves himself we can again be looking to make a substantial profit in the future.
Cousins > Smith = Cousins was never consistent and if Smith has show the quality that makes Pep Guardiola a fan we could have a gem on our hands. I certainly don't see this as reducing the quality of the squad.
Luongo > Amos = I know Luongo hasn't officially gone yet but he almost certainly will and Amos looks a very good replacement - if he can stay fit he could be an improvement on Luongo. The concern will be how we then replace Amos in 12 months time when he inevitably returns to the top tier.
Wszolek > Pugh = Pugh may be older but he seems a much more consistent winger than Wszolek ever was. If he can prove to be even half the player that Bournemouth fans idolise we certainly won't miss Wszolek
Mlakar > Hemed = Both on loan from Brighton. I imagine Mlakar can comfortably match Hemed's 7 goals from last season. He has a lot to prove. Definitely a better loan deal for QPR this season in my eyes
Smith > Hugill = both target men but Hugill probably has a bit more about him. West Ham paid £8 million so if we can get the player that Preston had we'll be very happy. Smith was detrimental to the overall team making us play a certain way all the time so I do see pretty much anybody as an improvement!
We haven't directly replaced Freeman but with Chair and Shodipo breaking through they can hopefully continue to improve.
Likewise Wells has no signing to replace him but Oteh returns from loan and Walker has lots to prove.
We also have Ball who looks a gem and Rangel and Cameron back in the mix so I am feeling very happy that we have done a sterling job in replacing a stale team that finished 18th, 16th and 19th in the past 3 seasons. It remains to be seen but I think the club deserve a lot of credit for improving the quality of the squad whilst making a profit along the way.

What are your thoughts?
I am certainly very positive - on paper it looks good! Let's see how they do on the pitch.
Come on you R's!
