Yes it seems we did not convert chances into goals and still managed a penalty goal at the other end. Back to the match review tomorrow at training I reckon...

If Warburton learnt anything from making 7 changes and giving 2 players their full debuts it was that some of these players are not good enough and in front of goal we are poor. 

Once we went 1-0 down I'm not sure where the defence went and Pompey quickly made it 2 -0. 

Not clinical in front of goal and poor defending. Every season we see the same no matter who manages the club.

Im sure that we all agree with Warburton when he said we were complacent. The issue is that its not the first time and unless he sorts the team out it wont be the last.

Nothing really changes.

My observations in respect of tonight and of our league games is that Barbet is the weak a link in our defence as Lynch was last season. Barbet wasn't great tonight but when he plays alongside Hall he has looked worse.  When the ball is in the air he has done ok and when he plays the ball out he looks confident but he lacks pace and is turned too easily. Opposing teams know that Barbet wants to push forward and as soon as we lose possession they can bypass him with a through ball or just run at him and he is like a statue. 

I wouldnt pick Barbet but if you do play him then it has to be alongside Leistner with Hall just in fron of them. The problem is that Barbet  is Warburtons man and that means he will keep his place.

Leinster played well tonight good passing range and some maroudinr]g runs included...
