The quality of football

Let's not get too carried away with Warburton, we have only played 6 league games and even though he is our first manager since Neil Warnock in 2010 to win his debut game we shouldn't get carried away just yet....
If we are top of the table and 10 points clear on 1st January, then maybe we could extend his contract a bit longer.
I don't disagree, all I am saying is managers generally need a lot longer than they get. If we really committed to Warburton and no matter what we gave him 3-4 years to overhaul the club from top to bottom I think we would be better for it. I'm sick of us changing manager every season and would love to see what a manager could do if he was given a few transfer windows over a few years to bring in players rather than us changing the squad every 12 months to fit the new managers ideas. We all know that should we go on a losing streak his job would be at risk all of a sudden but a bad spell won't make him a bad manager.
The game is so fickle these days that if we lose all 3 games in September there will be some fans (the twitter brigade no doubt) calling for Warburton to go. That is unfortunately the nature of the beast these days. And I'd love to avoid that, let's just get behind him no matter what, enjoy the quality of football and see where we end up.

Charlie austin hasnt exactly set the world alight since he left us and maybe proved he is
championship standard at best too
Charlie Austin was definitely premier league standard, he scored 19 goals for a QPR side that finished bottom. His issue isn't a question of his quality it is the problem that he isn't ever fit enough for long enough to prove himself in the top tier. He was on the cusp of the England squad at QPR but has probably only played 50 matches in the 3 1/2 years since he left. If he was fit he was a top level striker.
As for Jordan Hugill it is quite clear he is a confidence player so if we analyse his poor strike rate last season he was quite clearly not happy at 'Boro. Now he has a manager who has put his arm around him his confidence has grown tenfold and we are reaping the benefits. He is also getting plenty of chances to score in this side, we are playing to his strengths. If we continue to play in the same way and keep up our chance creation percentages I see no reason why he can't keep up his strike rate this season and get at least 1 in 2.
