West Brom were incredibly solid whilst we had too many players having an off day, Eze's little turns and flicks just weren't coming off, Wells and Hugill didn't click today, Kane and Manning weren't able to produce anything in the West Brom half, Chair was neat and tidy without doing anything threatening. I can't think of one good passing move we put together.
That said, it felt like a 0-0 game until we handed them the lead. They hadn't had a shot on target themselves until Lumley put them 1-0 up. That is his 3rd huge - HUGE - error in just 9 games. He has to give Kelly a chance now. Yes Lumley made some good stops at the death but he was having to make all those saves as we chased the game and he put us in that position. If it was still 0-0 they wouldn't have been putting us under waves of breakaway attacks.
Cannot argue with any of that northwesthoop - felt the same! Although I would say that Wells & Hugill were largely starved of service because the WBs were often reluctant to commit themselves too far forward. Now the squad needs to turn away from this mostly negative performance and look to the Cardiff game to show what we can really do.

Post West Brom Stats:
QPR drop to 9th after the West Brom defeat but are still only 3 points off the leaders who are West Brom as nobody overtook them in the 3 o'clock kick offs. We are just 1 point outside the top 6.
After 9 games last season we were 16th with 10 points so we are 7 places and 6 points better off than 12 months ago
No side in the division has more than 5 wins from the opening 9 games which again illustrates how tight the league is going to be this season.
In conceding another 2 goals we have still not kept a clean sheet in any competition and our 14 goals conceded is the most in the top 16 in the division.
Toni Leistner and Dom Ball tasted defeat for the first time this season.
Bright Osayi-Samuel made an appearance after missing the past 4 games. Matt Smith likewise came on after missing the past 3 games. Both of these players have the highest defeat percentages so far this season.
I thought both goals were soft and the wall for the second goal had more holes in it than my back garden West Brom wore us down in the end and we simply run out of ideas and a lot of off days from most players We would of been top this morning but as northwest saids were not far off the top and even Leeds lost yesterday I think West Brom will be there or thereabouts and win the league if they carry on like they have and they always enjoy the 6 points we hand them every season too A defeat hurts and the Cardiff game could be our second in a row But warburton will prove his worth hopefully if we do have a rough patch

The Baggies deserved their win and, when you consider the relative cost of each squad, it is not that surprising. They simply played our new style of football better than us, and once they dominated the midfield we were always going to be on the defensive. Well, we have now played a team that I tipped for automatic qualification and lost. Move on to create another winning run you Rs!
Is it time to drop Lumley He should of saved that first goal and to be beaten from where the lad shot from was a bit soft, but also on the other hand one of his saves was world class barbet is becoming a total liability and I hope Wallace in the end could step in and maybe for the Cardiff game We need to try to keep a clean sheet as the pressure is fully on the strikers if we concede every single game Hugill has dried up the last few games and is that it from him now as others on here said he’s not exactly prolific I’ll be honest in my opinions on here but if we won this forum would of been inundated with posts,we lose and it all goes quiet
West Brom boss Bilic peed me off With his comment “we didn’t give them a sniff “ One of your players is worth more than our entire team probably Give your opponents some respect as warburton gave you some praise before and after the game

Yes.
He a being directly responsible for conceding goals. He should have gone after Luton. 9 games, no clean sheets, 3 massive errors.
He only had to make world class saves yesterday because we were chasing the game and he put us in that position in the first place. Too little too late.
How many huge errors does he have to keep making before Kelly gets a chance to impress?
After a boozy day at my Brentford mates wedding and after getting loads of stick during the wedding speeches following our defeat to West Brom I have just managed to watch the full 90 minutes through bleary eyes. It was probably the best way of watching the game because we never really turned up.
WBA were much the better team and knew exactly where our weak links were and how to nullify our better players. Their set up of 4-2-3-1 was quite defensive and negated Wells or Hugill having a real chance. Their goals and the sending off were replicas of what had happened in previous games and any team that has done it's homework will know that we rely on Leistner because the our central defence is weak, devoid of pace and is exposed by movement.
Todd Kane lost possession 25 times during the match and was poor.
Im not a fan of Barbet but whilst he did ok before his sending off, the issue, is that he will always be caught out by a nippy striker who plays on his shoulder. The guy is slow and is a cert to be sent off again, it has been proven in our previous matches that he struggles in a back 4. It showed again yesterday when Warburton went back to his favoured 4-2-3-1 system. I would agree that something had to be done because Ball as the single DM was getting over run and Warburton moved Cameron to play alongside him. Surely it must be clear to Warburton by now that Barbet is a liability in a back 4 because he either gives away a penalty or gets sent off!
Cameron prefers to play as a central midfielder and against WBA you could see why. Against the better strikers in this league his defensive qualities are lacking and this was shown yesterday. He had a poor game.
I'm not saying anything new but if it wasn't obvious to Warburton before then it should be now, we desperately need a decent central defender to play alongside Leistner.
Lumley did well at times yesterday but as a goalkeeper you can't keep making mistakes and he is now becoming a liability. Warburton has stuck with him despite the Bristol City and Luton incidents but after yesterday I suspect he will lose his place to Kelly.
Kelly should be given a chance Lumley is costing us points and he’s not very good at playing the ball out to players From his area I don’t know if Kelly is good at passing the ball from his area to other players with his feet but with warburtons style of play we need a keeper that can Clean sheets win you points
If West Brom beat Leeds tonight the league is there’s for the taking I personally don’t think West Brom are that good, they were given 2 goals and most of our players didn’t turn up on the day Nobody stands out this season
