You have to wonder how true it was about Lumley picking up a neck injury yesterday.
Liam Kelly rather dropped Warburton in it during his post match chat with Sky when he said he was told he was playing on Thursday! Before the match Warburton said Lumley was missing because of the neck injury picked up in training on Friday!

either way, it was the right decision (even if someone was told to 'damage' Lumley)! What is more important: What is the club doing to improve Lumley's ball-skills and bolster his confidence. Underneath there is a good goalkeeper struggling to get out!
Kelly did well on Saturday and whilst his positioning and decision making can still be improved the fact he made the penalty save would have filled him with confidence. He is not as vocal as Lumley but maybe he doesnt need to be with defenders playing in defence rather than midfielders in defence. Unless he does something totally crazy then the goalkeeping jersey will be his for our remaining league games.
Lumley knows he has blown his chance of anymore league games this season and even if hes fit it will be interesting to see if he keeps goal in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday.

Lumley needs to move on. His own confidence at QPR is gone. The supporters have no confidence in him. The team probably have no confidence in him.
A move would help him wipe the slate clean and start again elsewhere. He would be better off at somewhere like Millwall where his job would be to command his area and kick it as far as he can.
Warburton's style and Lumley just don't go together.
