Honestly cannot see us bringing in a striker unless we ship out one or two of the current ones.
I can only see teams being interested in Sylla. Swansea were linked in the summer (not sure how true that was).
I imagine if Washington was sold we'd lose a lot of money compared to what we paid for him.
I wouldn't sell Smith as he is a good alternative off the bench and nobody will want Mackie if we are honest so it does rely on teams wanting Sylla or Washington.
Have to agree re the 'saleability' of our strikers (and I too would not sell Smith) but in a way the unlikely sale of any of the strikers is a clear indication of their quality! Perhaps we can loan out Washington and Mackie to a League One side and trim the wages bill that way? At least we could then look for another bargain like Freeman or Scowen on a free transfer, or a stop-gap striker who cannot get game time in the PL...?
There Is plenty of raw talent in the premier league Must be a defender or striker who wants game time
There is plenty of young talent out there but they are all on so much money at such a young age it's hard for Championship clubs to afford to even get them on loan.
Plus they already have so much money at such a young age they won't really care, it's not like they are fighting to make a career, they've already earned more than we ever will before they kick a ball in professional football.
I know this summer Redknapp said he wanted to get in a young loanee from a Premier League club when at Birmingham and was quoted £40,000 a week plus a large loan fee.

Cannot argue that young professionals are getting paid way too much too soon! Would only add that if they have ambition beyond their expensive life-style then usually the only way they are going to make it into the PL squad is by being loaned out to a Championship or European second tier side. All we can hope is that we get someone's budding start, rather than their problem child!
