Apparently their offer isnt a straight £2m but a deal that rises to £2m dependent on targets. The trouble is that every club knows we are in a financial mess and that they can submit low ball offers

Hopefully the club treats this as an opening bid. Bad enough to be losing Dykes to a close rival, but to add 'cheap' to the equation as well......
dykes is worth more than a poxy millwall 2 million deal that is probably more like a million pound one when broken down worth at least 4 or 5 million in my opinion if hes fed the ball by a team with a good midfield he would be lethal up front
The problem is we have once again left him with only a year left on his contract. So not only do clubs know we are desperate for cash, they know the players all want to leave (max exodus hardly indicates happiness) and clubs know players like Dykes can go for free in a year which drives the price down even further.
QPR need to get a lot smarter at negotiations and renewals going forward.
On every level QPR feel like an absolute joke right now.
Millwall certs for the play-offs next season for me. Still think Dykes’ most natural home would be Luton as he’s quite similar to Adebayo and Morris albeit slightly less mobile.
Rangers never made sense to me as suitors, the link seemed purely because Beale managed him before and the fact he’s a non-catholic Scottish national. Stylistically doesn’t suit the team. Čolak pretty much identical, and better in front of goal, and can’t get in the first-team most weeks, so why they’d go for him is beyond me.

Any player that gets to the final year should be sold, and that goes for any club that isn’t Manchester City, Newcastle and possibly Manchester United. Every one else has to take the money, even if it’s below market value according to the players ability. Leicester are a case in point here. They could and should have sold Tielemans last summer for the £15-20m that was being spoken of. His contributions dropped off, his attitude was poor and that money could’ve been used to plug gaps elsewhere, notably in goal. Failure to move him on was then precipitated their demise, and we can’t afford to do the same thing with Dykes. He quite simply doesn’t score enough goals to validate keeping him and not taking the money. People might point to his press or his target-man physique, but you can find someone cheaper elsewhere who fulfils both those roles.
The big question is whether Armstrong can fill the gap caused by Dykes' departure or not...
If Dykes gets sold then I doubt we could rely on Armstrong because he's yet to score and hasn't even managed 20 games. I'd hope that we would see a more composed Armstrong next season although we will need a more experienced striker to give him some direction. We saw how Dykes benefited from the presence of Austin who was constantly talking to him and telling him where to run.
He wouldn't be my choice but maybe Ainsworth thinks that Chris Martin is the ideal frontman to show Armstrong the ropes. The only issue would be whether he'd want to give up his job as singer for Coldplay?😉
A goal and an assist for Dykes as Scotland beat Norway.
That should help us get a bit of extra money for him or create some extra interest to start a bidding war!
That was my first thought when I saw the result! An international or major cup match are ideal for showcasing talent. Bring on the bidders!
Conversely he might want to stay and his performance last night could see his salary demands increase. Whether he stays or goes it' should never have been left until we are into the last 12 months of his contract.
After the situation with BOS and others you'd have thought our owners and would have learnt a lesson regarding player contracts but we continue to make the same mistakes.
