It appears that it's not only Lawrence Shankland that Sir Les has gone to watch at Dundee Utd but also their left back Jamie Robson.
The local Dundee media are reporting that the defender has played 21 times this season but could be in line for a move to Loftus Road should Rangers make their move.
Maybe Sir Les' has a plan to buy Shankland and see if he can Robson as damaged and therefore on a buy get one free basis.
It might be a blessing that Robson is out at the moment because we have Wallace and unless Manning is leaving this month then he is also available. It seems that whilst watching Shankland they might have also found another decent player that they can keep an eye on to pursue in the summer.
I wonder if the club are concerned about Manning leaving for free in the summer so are planning ahead?
Good call northwest that could be the case although I think that the club have an option to extend Mannings contract by a further 12 months to 2021 which they may well enforce if they think another club is interested in him.
Another possibility is that the club are using reports of signing another left back to force the current contract negotiations with Mannings to a conclusion.
Hopefully it's more to do with Robson being a young left back who can defend but can also support the attack when the situation is right.
Robson is just 22yo and only celebrated his birthday in December so certainly meets our current criteria of signing younger players and honing them into future assets.
Robson's injury can't be too bad as he has been named in the team to play Hibs. Sir Les will get his wish and be able to see both play against a Scottish Premier League team.
