BOS and wells should of started Lumley shouldn’t of even been on the bench Jack Clarke was up way past his bedtime
Very questionable team selection and warburton got it completely wrong tonight,he really did Tactics were all over the place and it was a easy cup game for Wednesday at the end of the day
Northwest already said what surprised me when saw the starting XI - only Ball as DM. During the first half it was obvious our defence could not cope, but Warburton compounded the error by not introducing Cameron and maintaining a midfield full of short players who cannot jump. Wednesday were able to use the midfield to reach the wings, beat Kane or Manning to cross, and dominate. To top that, Pugh/ Manning/Kane/Clarke had poor games. To cap it all, Ball suffered a cramp towards the end but was not substituted, leaving him unable to compete properly! Bad selection, bad performance, great support - for Wednesday!!
That was absolutely disgusting. Truly, utterly abysmal.
Does Warburton actually want Lumley to fail? He keeps saying about fans needing to be patient and respectful, but keeps throwing him under the bus by picking him and exposing him to every corner of the fans when he has no confidence at all. He needs to take him out of the squad for a run of games to help Lumley more than anything
Warburton has a lot of questions to answer after that. All this waffle he was coming out with about taking the cup seriously, then he sends out that team, and as usual, waits until it’s too late to bother changing anything.
I didn’t even see 2 of the 3 goals because of absolute morons standing up in front of me! All I could see was their second goal, which we could probably all see coming from a mile away.
It was shocking to watch Lumley is butterfingers and kids like Clarke and manning ain’t going to cope with a big experienced midfield like Wednesday have We were toothless and lacked any passion or fight,it was almost like a pre season friendly Our goal only came from an error from their keeper not open play We had enough in our squad to win that game, but warburton decided not to use it He gets us ticking like against Cardiff and Swansea then he tinkers and we look like a non league team He is so inconsistent and as manager he needs to admit it when he gets it wrong

I missed 2 of the 3 goals because I had to leave on the 90th minute to make sure I got my train home in the wee small hours, so equally miffed ranger-boy ! (I can only wonder at how so many Wednesday fans managed to get time off work and pay for a hotel room overnight (as the last train had gone for them apparently)!) Yes it was a poor selection, as I have said before, but with a night sleeping on it I have to add a few thoughts:
1. Too many of our players were not regular starters and looked out of it as a result (although Leistner did not seem phased by it as usual). 2. Lumley did produce some fine saves. Let's not forget those. However, his well-known hate of passed balls was both exploited by Wednesday and feared by those sitting around me. It is not only his confidence that has evaporated - so has that of the fans! 3. This confirms that our squad does not have strength in depth (or height come to that). We are not up to scratch up front (as Hugill continues to miss sitters); at the back (as Kane & Manning entertain visiting guests along our goal-line); and, most surprisingly, in midfield where we have a surplus I would suggest (Pugh is hit & miss and Clarke, whilst I accept he was thrown in at the deep end, was making the same sort of mistakes in positioning that Eze made last season).
Positives: Despite Masterson making some poor passes he was good at CB and had the confidence to surge forward as much as Leistner (sadly often with not just their midfield parting before him but also ours); Leistner was at his most dependable and we really should consider cloning him to get a younger version; Eze & Chair had moments when they ran rampant and their moves deserved a goal or two; and BOS, well he tore through Wednesday when he came on - superb!

Great support from yourself kingfisher and ranger-boy and others. Great effort to back the team and you all deserved more.
I don't trust Leistner any longer. I would much prefer any combo of Hall/Masterson/Barbet. He's good at backs to the wall defending and heading it clear but I find he makes us sit too deep which impacts the overall gameplan.
Manning is getting progressively worse at left back. Wallace needs to be a permanent fixture there.
I don't remember any fine saves from Lumley last night? Maybe I'm just forgetting them but I can't think of any time I applauded him.
20 exits in the round entered (3 1st round, 17 3rd round)
Only 8 wins without a replay
14 wins in total
30 defeats, (25 1st match, 5 after replay)
1 Quarter Final (25 years ago)
5th Round on just 2 other occasions (1997, 2019)
Dismal.
There is a positive to these abysmal stats northwesthoop : Think what odds we will get next season on winning a 5th round tie or even the cup itself!
A lot of the issue is with the QPR managers who fail to play their strongest team. When going for promotion or fighting relegation you can probably understand their decision but when you have a team that is in a mid table position there doesn't seem any logic.
Unfortunately, for too many teams the FA Cup doesn't hold the magic it did in the past and like the League Cup it has become a competition to play fringe players. Club's don't want to take the Cup competitions seriously until they reach the latter stages which seems very strange because if you get a derby game or a top Premiership club it's a way of generating some much needed money.
I can remember when the FA Cup final was the only match you would see on tv and it would be the biggest game of the season.

Your post stoatey reminded me of a conversation last night on BBC R5 between Robbie Savage and a Man City supporter. The latter was complaining about the fact that the FA Cup matches involved draws going to replays first, then extra time, and finally penalties; whereas Savage was pointing out (in his usual diplomatic manner) that lower league sides almost play those FA Cup matches to get replays and gain valuable revenue. Sadly the fan just kept repeating how unfair it all was for the top sides to be forced to play so many games, resulting in tiredness and possible injuries/suspensions! Even when it was explained slowly by Savage the fan just could not appreciate how desperate lower league sides were for revenue opportunities like this. How are the mighty elevated beyond caring and logic!

when your on 100 grand a week you should be prepared to put up with anything, not wrapped in cotton wool go back to the old days when keepers and players didnt wear gloves and played on rough pitches not carpets like they do now

Lower League sides play 8 more League games than the Premier League sides for starters and do so with smaller squads.
They also start in the cups in the earlier rounds.
I have no idea what the big clubs are moaning about. The players are just overprotected. Guys used to play 50 matches a season on quagmire pitches with old fashioned tackles flying in for a tiny wage. Get on with it.
I remember reading somewhere that AC Milan played 62 matches one season when they won the European Cup and Maldini there captain played every single minute of every match.
Not to mention that he also played a few games for Italy
