The performances of Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel have been particularly impressive, while moves for Yoann Barbet, Dom Ball, Geoff Cameron and Marc Pugh have proven to be astute. With nine matches to play the R’s sit 13th in the table and are just six points adrift of the playoff spots, with a relatively favourable fixture list ahead of them. Here, we look at the best QPR starting 11 of the season so far, based on WhoScored ratings.
whilst nobody could contest Barbet or Kelly's inclusion in winning sides, I would certainly question why Dominic Ball's contributions have been overshadowed. Is it because he rarely surges forward like Amos, so not as noticeable? There is also a reasonable claim for Wallace instead of Manning (Rangel is already preferred over the Manning-esque Kane on the right). I would also suggest that Eze is far better suited to a more central role, which would mean Chair moving over more towards the left... Anyway, over to you for your comments!
Manning will be in ahead of Wallace because Wallace has only made 10 appearances winning just 2. Manning has also scored goals in the league.
I agree Ball should be in ahead of Amos. The stats I keep indicate they have made a similar amount of appearances (Amos 25, Ball 22). We win 8% more and lose 4% less with Ball over Amos. The who scored stats must pick up pass accuracy or goals and Amos has 2 goals which perhaps edge him ahead.
My stats would also put in Pugh over Chair. Pugh may not be getting a lot of plaudits from the fanbase in general but has a 48.1% win record which is 2nd only to Barbet. Chair is down on 34.4% wins.
Kelly probably just pips Lumley as he has more clean sheets. Although Lumley has half a percent more wins, we are now losing 5% less with Kelly compared to Lumley. Hugill pips Wells for the same reason.
So my stats would put this as the team of the season so far:
Kelly Rangel Hall Barbet Manning Ball Cameron BOS Eze Pugh Hugill
Interestingly, this is the team that has been main starting line up in our recent 6 game unbeaten run.
