I want to go to work I want to ride my bike more than once a day I want to have a cup of tea in my local cafe I want to talk to my mates in the pub I want to see my mum
I was born to be able to make choices now somebody else is doing that for me,you can’t lockdown a country without repercussions There comes a point when you can’t take no more and the government will see a rise in suicides due to financial problems Also Little kids don’t want to be caged up,nobody does This whole country has been kicked up the bum and there’s much worse to come I reckon
Whilst we all probably wish the same things and some will suffer mental health issues we have to try and look at it 'positively' or at least look at it as glass half full:
We are being asked to stay at home, not fight a war. The sacrifices we are making are a better option than death. Even 15-20 years ago being stuck at home would have been a lot worse before the internet. This is such a small fraction of our lives that we are having to endure.
Try and stay in the right frame of mind, don't dwell on the negatives.
Lockdown in Italy Still over 700 dying a day Does it work or without it would even more would die Cover up of a virus that’s been around for months Flights still coming in to this country from China and Italy still Yes we are a spoilt country and don’t like being told what to do by our government all of a sudden A lockdown is a lockdown when the army are involved not a poxy police force who we’ve cut back for many years We can’t stop stabbings so how they gonna stop groups hanging round street corners,I saw loads today who don’t give a damn You try telling a mum with 3 kids stuck in a flat on her own that the kids can’t go out and play on a lovely day for as long as they want I’ve been strolling around more than once a day because I need to get out instead of getting more depressed than I already am I keep my distance and sod what the old bill think
It seems likely that the 'lockdown' will continue into April and possibly May, so that leaves the powers that be in football with two possibilities - end that 2019/20 season as it was halted (and then decide whether relegation/promotion criteria will apply or not); or adopt the following which I have been mulling over:
Consider the 2019/20 season as finished (good for some teams and bad for others). Then introduce the close season with transfers as normal.
Start the 2020/21 season on the normal date (fingers crossed on this one), with all accrued points from the 2019/20 season added. This would ensure that Liverpool, rightly, starts with a huge advantage, and mean that teams struggling at the bottom would still be in that position.
At the end of the 2020/21 season, when all the games have been played, normal promotion/relegation criteria would apply. This method seems the fairest given the most unusual circumstances, and should prevent any court cases regarding lost promotions as it would be applied across all levels of the game.

I've not seen that idea yet kingfisher of combining the seasons, it is certainly food for thought.
I still cannot see (apart from contract and sponsor issues) why they cannot finish this season. Even if it takes until October, just have next season running November to July and start the season after in September. Eventually we will catch up.
Yes there is a knock on effect to subsequent seasons but I think it is only fair to have completed seasons.
Finish this seasons FA Cup next spring instead of starting a new FA Cup. Have no League Cup next season.

The question of sponsors and player/manager contracts is one that may prove impossible to resolve if the clubs do not impose an automatic contract extension, because there are far too many 'interests' involved to get agreement otherwise! With regard to the cup competitions: Given the almost derision that managers these days have towards the League and FA Cup it is certainly a valid option.
2020 you might as well forget As much as Liverpool who fully deserve their title The whole season is finished end of story This year for most a year to forget and maybe reflect on,and that life isn’t a cushy as we’re like to think Poor old rich footballers and pop stars having to take pay cuts,oh I feel so sorry for you Just think of those NHS underpaid staff having to deal with dying patients every day at this grim time This lockdown is hard but I must admit I’ve got closer to my family as we’re all together not living in this bubble of work and money and actually talking to each other for a change I hope you guys are doing OK and I miss my normal life but this virus is something that has more behind it than we know

Doing OK given I had a cough & cold before this all started and still trying to part company with it! Just hang on in there @singlespeed - it would be much worse without social media to keep in touch with family and friends. Hopefully all of us will come out of the other side of this OK.
It is at times, agonising sitting in all day But if it saves people life’s potentially then so be it I was very ill in January and had exact symptoms and my whole work got it,a lady even went into intensive care with breathing problems My son kept coughing,my daughter was ill and went on a ventilator as she was struggling to breathe All back in January this has been going round for months and most of us have probably had it by now Our poxy government reacted weeks too late and should of used the army to do the lockdown and deliver shopping to vulnerable, why should my mum have to stand in a half mile queue,2 meters apart to buy a loaf of bread if they got any Lockdown shut the roads and the parks and try telling the hoodies to go home not with a police officer with a squaddie with a semi automatic rifle in his hands You can’t get some sacrificing their freedom and others simply ignoring it and strolling round like it’s a holiday I will stay in and if I go for a walk it’s only down to my mums to check she is ok but some think this is a big joke and the young die too not just the old
The premier league players are crying like babies They are multimillionaires and they seem reluctant to take pay cuts All non playing staff at spurs are on the furlough scheme and that is unbelievable considering they made 80 million profit last year Spurs show how selfish football can be

Yup, same for the pampered at Newcastle, Norwich and Bournmouth. I understand that they could possibly be earning the highest wages for only a while if a life-changing injury affects them, but 1 in 5 of the nation's workers are contractors too and most of them are furloughed on 80% salary. It is disgusting that the government has to even mention taking a pay cut to the Premiership players! Barcelona players have elected to go onto 30% wages!!
I’m sat at home in a small semi detached with a small garden and barely no savings They are sat in their mansions with multipurpose gym and games room with swimming pools and the rest and a nice bank account They need to get real they reallly do I see warburton and sir Les have taken a pay cut which is good on their part Football is full of greedy people who don’t even work hard for their money,as I’ve said before coronavirus is dragging the rich in with the poor and it’s hit them harder than a average earner
EFL Statement : football suspended until it is safe to resume:
As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the EFL, Premier League, FA and Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship has today collectively agreed to postpone its football competitions until it is safe to resume.
Football is committed in supporting the Government’s efforts in tackling the COVID-19 outbreak and the staging of football matches in this country. It is clearly something that simply cannot happen at this time. The thoughts of everyone associated with the EFL and its member Clubs are with anyone currently affected by the Coronavirus.
The situation will be kept under constant review with matches only returning at an appropriate point and based on the latest guidance provided by the relevant Government departments and health authorities.
The EFL also notes and appreciates the decision taken today by the Premier League in respect of the short term financial relief it is to provide EFL Clubs through the advancement of solidarity payments, parachute payments and Academy Grants. These actions will have a positive impact on individual Clubs across our three divisions at a difficult and uncertain time.
