The premier league restarting again Playing behind closed doors on telly Common sense and the whole concept of having a crowd to play in front of is going to be put aside because of money To be honest if we restart under these circumstances then I’m simply not interested at all

I'm not sure it is greed. All the other top leagues are returning, even in Italy.
The German League haven't seen a spike in cases. We won't be having any crowds any time soon, so this is the only way to get some sporting action going again.
I'm inclined to agree with singlespeed, it's all about the money. Premier league clubs like Bournemouth and others are so reliant on the TV money that players and fans health and safety is secondary. Playing behind closed doors or playing matches on the moon (no atmosphere there either) is just about the money.
Clubs in the Premiership are happy to spend spend spend at the start of each season when they spend millions on transfers etc., usually knowing that by the end of the season they can pay off their bills with the TV money they get at the end of the season. That in my opinion is the only reason they want to return.
The season should have been knocked on the head weeks ago. Playing football is a long way behind everyone's health and safety. We all know that teams may play behind closed doors but the fans will still congregate outside the stadiums. Can you imagine just how many fans will turn up outside Anfield when Liverpool get the points needed to win the title. If anyone believes that you will see any social distancing outside Elland Road or the Hawthorns should the Championship start and both clubs get promoted is not living in the real world.
Until there is a cure for the virus all football matches should be cancelled and the players should not be put in a position where they have to put their health on the line.
Football really isn't that important at the moment and IMO its only the owners of the clubs who are driven by financial greed that really want games to start again. You only have to see how a lot of these guys acted when they furloughed a lot of their staff. Most Premiership clubs have incomes of hundreds of millions/year and are owned by Billionaires who could easily have footed their wage bills for a few months with the change in their pockets so putting staff on furlough was just them taking advantage of the situation.
Football needs the fans but the fans need to be protected from themselves so I wouldnt play another game until there is a vaccine or a cure for the virus.
I am not sure how greed comes in to this? Do we know for sure what income they will get from the various TV channels for the games being live bearing in mind that Sky Sports is currently free? Are BBC paying anything for the games they are showing? Many of the larger clubs will lose the match day income too and there is still the cost of policing etc as there will no doubt be idiots turning up at stadiums.
For me its about finishing the season fairly and avoid the mess that will no doubt ensue by those being relegated or missing out on Champions league etc. They are continually testing the players and staff so risk for them is minimal, in fact we have more chance of catching the virus by going to the supermarket.
Personally I am pleased its being played to Concorde the season and I cant wait for the Championship to play the remaining games.
These are just my thoughts so pleased don't take offence.

I imagine most clubs will be at a loss for playing the games behind closed doors so I still fail to see the greed. They are just trying to finish the season. The fact they are probably losing money is no doubt what is stopping The Championship coming back yet.
In the Premier League of the remaining 92 games:
The BBC and Amazon have 4 games each.
Of the 64 that Sky will show 25 will be available for free
BT are showing 20 but none will be available free.
Not sure how much the EFL teams stand to lose but it was reported that Premier League clubs will have to repay broadcast revenue if the 2019-20 season is not completed as scheduled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Executives from all 20 Premier League clubs were informed that £762 million in TV money will be lost if the season does not finish.
As a result the clubs are "determined to get games played behind closed doors" to avoid having to lose all the money. I would imagine that by playing behind closed doors means that the clubs won't have to be hit with the full £762milion but probably 50%.
IMO if the Premiership clubs weren't going to lose the TV money then the season would have been abandoned due to the virus.
You are quite possibly right about the season being abandoned if they didn't have to pay it back, but I am still not convinced (again, no offence meant just my thoughts) I think most would say "end the season" with exception to Liverpool and those in the relegation zone. But it would still cause issues about who is going up / down, who gets the prize money based on their final positions, teams in the Championship would start kicking off as some have spent big to gamble on getting promotion, if they don't go up them how does it affect their financial status and FFP as I am sure many would argue that if they have over spent then they need to be punished.
Also, many of the clubs outside possibly top 6 lose money already so need the TV money to survive (Burnley, Bournemouth, Brighton) so if they have to pay it back they will be in financial trouble.
So much to consider and it hurts my head thinking about it but in my opinion finishing the season make sense on very level.
How is that the greed of the clubs? That's Sky (who are offering free view, BT who are not offering free view, BBC offering free view) so I guess you can argue in some way they are being greedy by forcing the club to play or give them back the money they paid out? If they choose to charge for the use of their TV channels its their right and like many businesses across the UK they will want to get income going again. We don't have to pay to watch if we choose not to.
Players and coaches are tested regularly and are in a much safe position than you and I when it comes to the virus.
I just cant see any greed anywhere just a conclusion to a much competition in a way that is fair on all.
Sorry Single, please don't take offence its just my opinion

That's slightly misleading single, you don't have to pay £120 to watch the remaining games, that is if you want to watch every single match left to be played.
29 will be free from Sky and the BBC. I think that is pretty good.
It will probably cost more to watch the remaining QPR/Championship matches, as they will probably have some on Sky with the rest via the clubs channels which usually charge £10 per match within the UK.

Now, if championship clubs charge season ticket holders to watch games then I would class that as being greedy.
Obviously my intelligence level isn’t on par with you high flyers I’m just a depressed bloke worried about his job and family like many others at the moment Football means fxck all to me at the moment to be honest
The free games that the Premiership/Sky are showing are nothing more than an appeasement to get matches back and being played. To give the fans a few token free games is a small price for Sky because they will make millions from the games that they will show. Their (Premiership/Sky) logic is it's better to make several hundred million than have the season abandoned and lose money. If Sky are so generous why haven't they given the BBC any free games previously and what are the odds that they will give them any free games in the future?
The Premiership and the TV companies are only interested in how much money they can make that's why it's the Holy Grail of football. We all know that thousands of fans will travel to games whether they can get in or not. Sky and the Premiership have no interest in the health and safety of fans who will still travel to games, the authorities who will have to try and police the fans and others who will be caught up in the chaos. When Everton play Liverpool in a game that could decide the title wherever it might be played there will be thousands of scousers and the chances of any social distancing will be minimal.
Playing football at the current time is irrevelant and does it really matter if the season was abandoned. Until there is a vaccine for Covid 19 no games should be allowed to go ahead.
Allowing the Premier League to start and knowing that fans will congregate outside stadiums is just encouraging a 2nd wave of Covid 19 and is irresponsible. It's my opinion that we shouldn't take the risk because the fact that we are still seeing c.2,0000 cases a day is still too many.

Mate, we are all going through it at the moment you are not alone in the current struggle, there are people you can talk to about depression and I would encourage you to let us all know how you are feeling via this board so we can offer support. I get depressed sometimes too and find things tough but there isn't a single person that has ever refused to listen when I need to vent or just talk.
At no point did we man to offend, its a message board for chat, debate and the occasional p*ss take and as for intelligence I really don't thing anyone is less intelligent than me, I am the Rodney Trotter of this board with my GCE.
