Perch Out for a prolonged spell "a number of months" with a dislocated knee cap. Sounds bad.
Lynch has a hamstring injury, Tu hlength of time out not confirmed. It remains to be seen whether his absense will be longer than the time it usually takes him to spot there is a defender behind him.
As I said elsewhere on the forum, our lack of depth has started to show, and no more starkly than at CB. Now we only have Onuoha & Baptiste as first-choices at CB, and Hall/ Lynch/ Perch injured. the alternatives are a slowly-improving Caulker or the EDS CBs. We really need some good news regarding Grant Hall's recovery! Should we start having a priest in the tunnel to bless our CBs before they go out....?

For me this is worse news than last night's result. It looks like Olly will have to change the system as we don't have enough fit CBs. That's bad luck so early in the season.
Whilst he is still young I thought Giles Phillips did well in pre season. He couldn't do any worse than Caulker and Baptiste did last night.
Good call Stoatey. I'd forgotten him. I'm sure that Chief and Baptiste will play but then it's a choice of abandoning the 3 CB formation or choosing a reserve: Caulker, Furlong, Phillips or perhaps even Goss. Not a great game for giving someone a "Chance".
Furlong can play the right side of a back 3 like Perch did.
Onuoha, Caulker and Baptiste is another combo of 3.
If they were out Robinson or Bidwell could always play the left side of the back 3 with the other as the wing back.
Plus Hall was due to be back after the coming break so we only have to get through 1 more match for him to be back in the mix
For me, with most of the season ahead of us and likely suspensions and injuries, we are working on the hope that Caulker will be very soon firing on all cylinders and that Hall is not going to have a relapse. In all fairness I had forgotten how well Phillips performed in pre-season, and I am going to guess that he would have been given a cup run-out if Caulker was not the priority. The immediate issue is RB cover for Furlong. That would have been only Onuoha, taking him away from CB duties, but now Wheeler could be drafted in. (It was good to see Scowen, Luongo and Wszolek helping Furlong in the last match.) Still feel prayer mats should be being distributed!
