Our 3 most experienced players now  Hall has gone may all be leaving the Club

Eze 85 starts 18 subs: may be in line for a big money move 

Manning 72 starts 14: subs has had a lot of speculation that his future lies else ware

Lumley 72 starts : No longer managers No. one choice and may want to leave


Leistner is the only other player with more than 50 games under his belt and is already on loan and in all likelihood will not come back


Same old QPR. No consistency and no loyalty   

They are quite eye opening stats. Especially when the 3 players you mention - Eze, Manning and Lumley - could all quite easily not be here either!



I suppose Barbet and Wallace are still experienced, albeit not at QPR. We are almost certainly going to be the youngest team in the league next season.

I have no problem with developing a young exiting squad and I think that Warburton has done well.

I know that teams like Brentford have developed young teams and have spent little money in doing so, but theses clubs have planed for it and done it over a period of time

QPR have not planned for this it has been forced on us because of the financial situation and the sudden change of direction of the board.

This has left us reliant on loan signings. these have been hit or miss Hugill Amos and Wells have done ok this season but Mlaker Smith and Clark have been poor.

These loan signing are not free. they cost the club Millions in wages signing on fees and payment to parent clubs.

I know that I keep on saying this but when theses loan signing go we are left with nothing except a big hole in our budget.

I would like the club to come out with a statement of a planed direction the club is going in. not just a knee jerk reaction the the current situation.

And please please please keep a manager for more than 18 months.

 

You are both right (kensalr & northwesthoop) in regard to relying upon costly loan players. We would be far better to be bringing in one loan player to cover a position we could not fill (because of a late transfer or a signing that went wrong), rather than hoping someone else's ugly duckling develops into a swan with us. Of course players do positively develop under a different/better regime, but surely we should be bringing through League Two-equivalent talent to make something from that process! As it stands, at season end we will still have no established striker and no established back-up. That means we will have to either buy, so using up revenue from the inevitable transfer sales, or getting another loan striker or two... 

If the club had stuck to its policy of signing only young players and turning them into assets then I could fully understand why we have to loan more experienced players like Wells and Hugill.

The issue I have is why are we loaning young players like Mklar, Smith, and Clarke who stand in the way of our own youngsters. The fact that Warburton has extended the loan of Clarke is just mind blowing and wasting money.

Why is Warburton signing a 32yo player like Lee Wallace when we already have an adequate young left back in Hamalienen. 

The owners have been a complete failure taking us from the Premiership to a struggling Championship club incurring a huge FFP fine in the process. In the past even I have been gullible enough to believe the talk of new stadiums and new training grounds but it's smoke and mirrors to cover their mismanagement.

I have no idea what role Sir Les plays or whether he has any control over who Warburton signs and who he lets go.

We are mismanaged from top to bottom and once TF has pocketed the money from the sales of Eze and BOS our future is not looking great.

One extra thought on this topic of playing those from the U23s: They mentioned during last week's commentary that the U23s are not in training, so unless they are already assigned to the First team (presumably like Bettache) then they are weeks away from playing. Given the social distancing and extra measures required during the pandemic for the squads then I expect it would be difficult for them to be training as well. Of course, if you have a large training facility with multiple pitches and extra staff like the top Premier clubs then its not a problem.

It would have made a whole lot of sense to add either players out on loan (like Smyth or Phillips) or U23s to the depleted First Squad, rather than extend Clarke's loan.
