MW likes to say how important it is to attack and defend as a team and for the second goal I have to agree...I started screaming at the TV when the ball was still close to Blackburns penalty box...someone need to foul the player on the ball and take a yellow for the team...once it got all the way to Dickie it was over
Listening to the podcast on Loft for Words they report that since Warburton became manager we now have a record of 40 goals conceded from set pieces.
Yes I heard that and it was not one of those records you want to be proud about..... Despite Warburton's public protestations, I would hope the club is now (at last) addressing this issue! One positive I would like to add though: I am impressed by the work that obviously goes on with our own set pieces. For example, the movement at corners to draw the opposition away from the lone header is clever!

This is true and quite funny really that despite every opposition set piece feeling like a penalty, we spend our days off working on attacking set pieces. Warburton in a nutshell!
Interesting piece in 'Loft for Words' this week about our goalkeepers and how many we have on our books. One sentence did stand out and that was regarding the number of saves from Dieng this year.
"No goalkeeper in the league made more than his 119 saves, though that is in part because, concerningly, we still face more shots on target than most – only Daniel Bentley at Bristol City (174) and Bartosz Bialkowski (168) at Millwall had to face more shots than Seny with 164. His save percentage of 72% is the eleventh best in the league".
What these figures dont say is how many saves were prior to January 2021 and how many were after the close of the transfer window. I suspect some of the reason he was forced to make so many saves was due to the early season defence but whatever it's good to know that we have a good pair of hands to support the defence.

You are right stoatey to draw to everyone's attention the performance figures for goalkeepers, and equally right to mention his stats were certainly impacted by him having a poorly functioning defence until we went to a Back 3 (and they clicked). I do remember pushing for a 3-5-2 formation but I am surprised at how successful it has been - although that may explain why Warburton also took so long to change to it! Certainly having a confident ball-playing goalie allows the defence to focus more upon their problems, rather than feeling they must be ready to cover for a poor clearance or c*ck-up!
