QPR Prediction League 2019/20 - Match 45 - Results

The penultimate game of the season and it is fair to say nobody predicted the 4-3 scoreline - in fact only minxymartin predicted QPR would win and of course minxymartin has predicted that every week for 8 seasons so has to be correct at some point!
Nobody got Masterson as first scorer but a few back up points were gained; stoatey, LurkR, surrey chad, e17hoop and CutePR got Smith and kingfisher and QPRBex got Eze
kingfisher, qprallan, MaxQPR, minxymartin, ashqpr and LurkR got the 31-45 first goal time whilst nobody got more than a single point in the bonus match.
It was a low scoring round overall with 12 players scoring 0, 1 or 2 but it was still a round that settled a lot in the end of season reckonings!
The top scorer in Division 1 with 5 points was LurkR and that is enough to make him our CHAMPION! e17hoop has moved above Ghost into 2nd but LurkR has still established a 19 point lead and with only 18 points left to play for it is enough to seal back to back QPR Prediction League titles. LurkR was 2nd in Phase 1 then down in 7th in Phase 2 but has been unstoppable in the final part of the season. Even without his FA Cup bonus he would have been 9 points clear!
LurkR is only our 2nd back to back champion after I achieved that in 2016 and 2017. He is our 3rd two time champion; joining myself and Rosco Bosco with 2 gold stars next to his name. Nobody has 3 titles and nobody has ever won 3 titles in a row....
It is the first time in 7 years that we've crowned the champion before the final day. The last time it happened was in the very first season of the game back in 2012/13 when Rosco Bosco took the title. I will do all of the end of season player write ups and trophy after the final game but for now it is CONGRATULATIONS TO LurkR
Elsewhere surrey chad will be relegated unless he can score a full 18 points, SydneyR fails to score and ranger-boy scores less than 7. ranger-boy needs to score at least 7 to avoid the drop himself.
SydneyR is 3 points away from singlespeed in the battle to avoid the relegation play off spot. qprallan was the winner in the group above, with 3 points moving him 4 clear and above stoatey.
In Division 2 CutePR will have to wait to confirm her inevitable promotion as kingfisher scored 3 to cut the gap CutePR holds over 3rd place to 17 points. kingfisher will have eyes on automatic promotion as he has moved to within 5 points of QPRBex so it's all to play for in that battle. ashqpr still has an outside chance of sneaking 2nd too.
minxymartin was the top scorer in this round with 6 points and that moves him to within 4 points of an unlikely play off place. MaxQPR could still make the play offs but needs to score big.
So there we go, LurkR is our champion for the 2nd season in a row, but the final game will still have a lot riding on it. Who goes down? Who comes up? Who gets the silver and bronze medals? Who will be in the play offs next week?
