According to WLS it seems that we have received an enquiry to buy Bonne as well as another enquiry for a loan deal. There is no mention of the clubs who have enquired but the players preference is a move back to Ipswich.
With only 12 months left on his deal we need to offload him and bring in a replacement soon.
My understanding is that Ipswich have a striker called Tyreece Simpson who wants out and who originally they were going to release. However, in January when Ipswich sent Simpson out on loan to Swindon he scored a few goals and Ipswich have now enforced the 12 months extension option on his contract. I supoose thats understandable knowing that he now has some value even though he wants out.
I believe that Ipswich have recieved offers for the want away Simpson but are holding out for more. It's possible that I'm reading too much into all of this but I reckon they have tipped Bonne off that if they can get a fee for Simpson then he will be on their shopping list. By telling eyerone at QPR that he's unhappy and wants away and is in the last 12 months of his contract he might be thinking that we will let him go for peanuts.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the East Anglian Daily Times, Macauley Bonne said he believes that a return to the Blues is not that far off the radar. “Kieran McKenna (Ipswich manager) called me in for a chat the day after that last game against Charlton. We sat down at the training ground with a coffee and had a good chat. He said he likes me, sees me as a hybrid forward that can do a bit of everything and that Ipswich Town is not a closed book. We’ve kept in touch.” I hope the gaffer has not changed his mind.
Bonne is working his ticket away IMO.
