Our League Cup prediction cup has been revised this season after a number of players failed to enter the first leg SO IS STILL OPEN TO EVERYBODY
As a result we've made Round 1 spread across 2 legs with the combined scored counting. Nobody did that well in Leg 1, so it gives players who forgot to enter a change to still make it through.
The 8 players with the best score after this second leg will go through to the Quarter Finals.
We are basing Leg 2 on 4 weekend Premier League matches just so it makes it easier for everybody to enter and so we can catch up.
A reminder of the scoring:
Each round is based on 4 matches with less points available in each match from 1 to 4.
When predicting a scoreline you get 6 points for the correct score, 3 points for a correct result.
When predicting a first scorer this is worth 6 points. Just like in the QPR Prediction League a new feature is you get 1 'back up' point if the player you predict scores at any time.
A first goal time is chosen from 6 time brackets with 3 points awarded if you are correct. Predicting the team who will score first is worth 1 additional point.
As a form of goal difference you also need to predict how many bookings will occur in all 4 games as a total. The more wrong you are, the more points added to your goal difference. The aim is to be as close as possible... the lower your goal difference the better. This will be used to separate any joint scores.
If things are still level I count the amount of exact scores, first goal scorers and highest score in a single match so these are used as further tie breakers.
That is it, simple to play, hard to be correct! 46 points is the maximum score in Round 1.
