A total of 49 points were scored in week 8 which is about average for this season and much better than last week's measly 21. Virtually half of those points (24) were scored for predictions on one match: Birmingham's loss to Bournemouth. 11 players predicted that outcome and two of them played their joker.
The other popular prediction of the week was Arsenal to beat Villa. 9 predicted that and got 0 points and a hit on their goal difference for their troubles.
Outside of the Birmingham match, the other home defeat correctly predicted was Derby v Barnsley. minymartin and SydneyR got that one.
Only two people got points for a home win: Rosco Bosco and SydneyR picking Norwich to beat Swansea.
8 players got points for the draws. Sheff Wed v Millwall was predicted by stoatey, MCM Hoop, jalfrezi and ranger-boy. minxymartin, LurkR and kensalr got Man City v Liverpool. And jimjams got Boreham Wood v Southend (which counts as a draw as that was the score after 90 minutes).
