The defeat against Bristol City marks the end of Phase 1 and it was to be a dramatic end to the opening period of the season!
I was the only player to predict the 1-2 defeat exactly for 6 points. surrey chad was the only other player to predict a defeat.
Nobody had Dickie as first scorer but SydneyR, jalfrezi, surrey chad and myself had Wells for a back up point
minxymartin, MaxQPR and surrey chad predicted the 0-15 first goal time
ranger-boy, SydneyR, jalfrezi, MCM Hoop, surrey chad, onenightfever and QPRBex got 1-1 between Derby and Coventry for 3 bonus points
I'll start the round up in Division 1 where there was less of the drama. Only 2 players scored points - leader MCM Hoop who dominated the phase, top since Match 6 and he takes the maximum 10 bonus points into Phase 2. QPRBex also scored 3 points to move above ashqpr into 5th which is worth an extra bonus point.
The door was open for stoatey and e17hoop to avoid the drop with those just above the bottom 3 failing to score, but they couldn't score either and so both drop down to Division 2. This is the first time stoatey has been down in Division 2 since 2018/19 and this is his first ever relegation. e17hoop was actually relegated in Phase 1 last season, came straight back up and ended the season with the silver medal! So there is a long way to go yet.
Who would replace them?
It ended up being incredibly close with just 4 points covering the top 5 in the end. minxymartin and ranger-boy each scored 3 points and that was enough to stay 1st and 2nd. Congratulations to both - minxymartin is into Division 1 for the first ever time.
Below them MaxQPR went into the final match of the phase in 3rd but only scored 3 points and that allowed both myself and surrey chad to overtake.
surrey chad scored 10 points to my 7 to pip me to promotion by 2 points. It all came down to Coventry equalising in the 91st minute against Derby. At 1-0 to Derby it was the other way around. surrey chad therefore bounces straight back to the top tier after relegation at the end of last season, as does ranger-boy.
At the bottom qprcammitch was long since absent, but SydneyR's 4 points were enough to move above woodork on goal difference, which makes a difference to the negative points they start Phase 2 on for finishing in the bottom 3.
