We hit the half way point of the season and it is the first results update of 2021!
The R's won for the first time in 10 league games; a 2-0 win predicted exactly by minxymartin! kingfisher. LurkR, onenightfever, e17hoop, SydneyR, ashqpr and woodork also went for a QPR win.
Charlie Austin opening the scoring was a source of many points from 2013 to 2015 and so it proved again last night! It may have been written in the stars but was only predicted by kingfisher, SydneyR, CutePR, onenightfever, MaxQPR and minxymartin
LurkR, ashqpr, Rosco Bosco, onenightfever, e17hoop, jalfrezi, MCM Hoop, QPRBex, myself and surrey chad got the 31-45 first goal time
Only CutePR and MaxQPR got the 3 points in the bonus match for predicting Sheffield United/home team for a 1-0 win
The big news is that CutePR is the new leader in Division 1, jumping from 3rd to 1st and knocking MCM Hoop down to 2nd. CutePR spent the whole of last season in Divison 2 before promotion in Phase 3 and has not been top of the lot since 2018.
At the bottom minxymartin had his biggest scoring since the opening day with 12 points. That, combined with qprallan failing to score, mean minxymartin has turned it into a real battle to avoid the drop. From 17 points from safety to just 5. surrey chad is now bottom of the division.
In Division 2 onenightfever had never hit double figures until Match 21 and he's done it again in Match 23. He was already top but is now in a commanding position, 13 points clear of 3rd place as he looks to seal a first ever promotion.
MaxQPR stays 2nd with another solid 9 points to move 8 clear of e17hoop. SydneyR scored 9 to move out of the bottom 3, replaced by stoatey who failed to score. SydneyR has scored 30 points in 3 rounds to turn around a slow start to the phase.
kingfisher also scored 9, equalling his best score of the season to stay in touch, but is still 8 away from avoiding negative points at the start of Phase 3
