Charlie was on the radio explaining about a bust up he had with Cameron after the Birmingham defeat. It was eventually split up by Johansen who took the blame because of his miss.
Where was Warburton whilst this was kicking off, well he stayed outside. His excuse was he likes to give the players five minutes before he enters the dressing room.
Apparenty, there was also a heated discussion after the Barnsley defeat.
This is another reason that Austin should be captain. The bloke is like us, he really cares and tells the non performers what he thinks!
He raises the standard on and off the pitch. He hates to lose and the rest of the squad need more of that mentality battered into them. Too many professional footballers (not only a QPR issue) walk off the pitch not bothered win or lose. Austin won't allow that.
I personally don't mind the idea of a bust up as it means it does matter to the players.
I agree Austin is a very good professional, but I wouldn't have him as a captain simply because I'll never agree with having a player on loan as captain. I know it's Charlie and that, but I can't agree with it (unless a deal is already in place to sign the loan on a permenant deal).
However I'm in favour of the dressing room 'bust up' simply because that's a sign of players who care. A healthy dressing room will have that 4-5 times per season as the players will genuinely care and ultimately all want the same thing.
I'm still unsure if Warbs being outside at the time bothers me or not. On one hand, you'd want the manager to be the one to break it up and defuse the problem, but on the other hand, it's not uncommon for managers to let the players talk things among themselves before the main teamtalk. Look at videos of Warnock doing just that in his career.
Today Warburton selected Wallace to be captain and, as you might expect, he offered little. Having a wing back as captain is asking a lot - he is on the fringe of play and probably spends most of the game breathless if he is doing his job! If we are going to consider who replaces Cameron then let's not forget Dickie, who has come on in leaps and bounds as a defender and is vocal too. Ideally I would always go for a defensive midfielder (because of their position on the pitch) as the captain, but I see nobody there yet to do the job...
