Win, Lose & Draw - Week 29 - RESULTS

With one round to go and a couple of postponed matches to come, it could hardly be closer at the top. More of that later, but first the scores for this week.
With the Man Utd v Liverpool match to be re-arranged, we have only had 9 of the 10 matches so far. And there was only one home win, Brentford v Watford, which was predicted by northwesthoop, kingfisher & woodork.
There were 3 home losses. No-one got Villa's win at Everton - in fact 11 of us had that as a home win. 6 players got Newcastle's loss to Arsenal: qprallan, stoatey (welcome back after a couple of missed weeks), ashqpr, kingfisher, jalfrezi and SydneyR. LurkR and woodork got Birmingham's big defeat by Cardiff.
That leaves 5 draws. 5 got Huddersfield v Coventry: LurkR, stoatey, kingfisher, jalfrezi & Rosco Bosco. SydneyR, ranger-boy and woodork got Luton v Middlesbrough. CutePR got West Brom v Wolves and I got Sheff Wed v Forest.
kingfisher and woodork were top scorers with a maximum of 8 points. Well done both. It is the second straight maximum for kingfisher and that has only been done once before, by me in November 2018. It is quite a change in form as kingfisher had failed to score in 6 of the previous 8 rounds.
We have quite a finish to the season in store with no fewer than 8 players with a mathematical chance of winning the competition.
Somehow Rosco Bosco remains top on goal difference from northwesthoop. Rosco Bosco has score only 5 points across the last 4 rounds but no-one has overtaken him. northwesthoop now has a game in hand though. If the re-arranged Man Utd match is a draw, he'll move 3 points ahead of Rosco Bosco.
Just 1 point behind we have jalfrezi and ashqpr. ashapr has 2 games in hand. If Everton win at Villa on 13th May and Man Utd draw with Liverpool it would be worth 4 points to ashqpr.
SydneyR (with one game in hand) and LurkR are 3 points off the lead. jimjams is 4 behind. qprallan is 6 behind with a game in hand.
The wooden spoon is a 3-way battle now. ranger-boy is 3 points behind jortja and 6 behind QPRBex, who has 2 games in hand.
So next weekend is the last full round of matches but it is quite likely that the competition won't be settled until the re-arranged matches are played. Villa v Everton is on 13th May and Utd v Liverpool is yet to be re-arranged.
And don't forget the early kick-offs next week so the deadline is 11am on Saturday.
