Alfie Lloyd has signed from Yeovil
18 year old striker
Undisclosed fee, 3 year deal. He will initially link up with the U23 squad.
A bit like with the Kelman signing we clearly have an ethos now and type of signing we are always looking for. Players we can develop and hopefully profit from on the pitch first and then with big fees down the line.
Lloyd is a Yeovil fan and hometown lad, so it is a big move for him.

I cannot find any stats on the lad that add weight to signing him, but I am sure he is another 'banker' for the future!

The club are definitely taking the right approach. If we sign multiple lads of this age, on what will be small fees, even if only 1 becomes a star it will pay off handsomely on and off the pitch.

The lad only played once for Yeovil first team and that was a 9 minute sub appearance but played a few games in their youth team. He turned 18yo on 30/04 and came to light playing for Yeovil U18's in a tournament at Millfield when he scored a few goals including a hatrick in one game. My understanding is that they then watched him play against Bristol Rovers U18's where he got a brace. The club subsequently invited him up to London for a trial and the rest as they say is history.
Young Lloyd is also a bit of an athelete and done well in various South West atheletic events. His best efforts were in the speed events.
Getting the scouts out and watching these tournaments will hopefully identify some more prospects and maybe a few of them develop into gems.
