I have the greatest admiration for his Dad and his family who do so much to try and prevent knife crime by visiting schools and telling people their story.
It's so difficult to imagine how they feel when they watch Kiyan brought back to life by CGI and see what might have been.
yes its been terrible what happened and our club have supported the cause massively
now i dont want to be negative about the situation but i have to say whats on my mind
i really respect Kiyans dad Mark and hes a great motivator what hes doing to stop knife crime is amazing and what he and his wife went thru none of us would like to go there but theres a time the message has to stop because people will turn off.
we named our stadium after Kiyan which i thought was a great move for the one season but i think its gone on for at least 2 seasons now?? tell me if im wrong
when is the stadium going back to being named Loftus Road? im all for 1 of the stands to be renamed Kiyan Prince stand but the whole ground??
that being said the club also giving kiyans number 30 is also a nice touch like with Ray Jones a very nice touch
but when does it end? i was very much behind it all now im sorry to say i think enough is enough i have backed all the things that have been given but i think anymore and many fans will start talking
i know im going to get smashed on these boards for saying this but i know speaking face to face with other QPR fans they feel the same
maybe on this occasion i should have bit my lip but i couldnt today
I didn't agree with the renaming of the stadium but it was a fan vote and Kiyan Prince won. It was going to change to something regardless.
It has been 2 seasons now with that name but this second season they didn't really get much out of it (no fans in attendance) so I imagine it will carry on.
The renaming of the ground is always going to be an emotive subject but like both northwesthoop and tomcat75 the majority of us fans still refer to the stadium as Loftus Road.
Whilst I doubt that the Kiyan Prince Foundation get any money directly from the stadiums renaming it's probably more to do with the publicity they get from the tv and other media that attracts funds from other sources.
I understand your feeling that the naming of the stadium to the Kiyan Prince Stadium has run its course, But the alternative will be to name it with some corporate name to make some money.
I feel we will never see it renamed as the Loftus Road Stadium again.
In saying this I would rather it continued to be called the Kiyan Prince Stadium than an alternative Like the Air Asia Stadium or some other corporate name.
I was 100% for the renaming of the stadium and I have not changed my mind yet.
Great thing all round, do you think Kiyan Prince would have been created in FIFA if it was not for the stadium being renamed? I'm not sure but it was and is a great gesture by the club and must have massively raised the profile of the charity.
maybe ive missed something i didnt know Loftus road had to be renamed for any reason
i thought it was just a nice gesture for a season to help out a very worthy cause
i think that cause has now run its course i think if we were to move from Loftus Road to a new stadium then we would have to name it an "Air Asia" arena or something like that
for me naming a stand like one of the paddocks after Kiyan and have the charity as a main charity that our community and fans are involved in
Let's agree to being grateful we support a club that has made such a big thing of such a tragic death. The club continues to support the local community in so many ways and sets an example for other clubs to follow. Getting recognition for Kayan's 30th on FIFA is fantastic for the foundation, the club, and thos who work for it in the community!
