Imo that's a really strong and impressive statement and I'm proud of the club.
Given all the nonsense with Kane it wouldn't have surprised me if he'd been thrown under the bus... But the club have stood up for truth on all sides I think.
I don't disagree, but I don't know why it needed a further statement. It's basically the same statement from 2 weeks ago. It feels like they are trying to have a go at the FA for not sorting it sooner and not banning Canon, which again is fair enough, but I'm not sure it will achieve anything.

Mate, I think it is in response to Brentford's statement issue yesterday afternoon.
Reading between those lines, especially their delight at the FA's one-sidedness and believing Canos as they did without any cause to doubt or take action, there does seem to be a petty schadenfreude aimed at us as much as there is supporting their player imho. They (Bentham, etc.) do have previous in terms of pettiness regarding us.

It doesn't need to achieve anything it just needs to be said and put on record.
If you want folk, in any profession or setting, to hold up their hands, say they were wrong and take their punishment then there must be an expectation that the rules are going to be applied fairly to all party's concerned.
What is the message that the FA has given out? "We will not tolerate any nationalistic or ethnic abuse unless its perpetrated by an overseas player"

Yes indeed - and the stance sends a very confused precedent for what happens next - is racism defined as different for different circumstances? One stance - for all players surely!
Well let’s be realistic, the FA haven’t ever liked us have they!
But in some ways I’m quite glad Kane hasn’t been able to play, as it’s given Kakay the chance to really improve and get a good run of games in the side. Hopefully he can continue that next season.
