There is a lot of negative comments on social media re this late change. As you can imagine, those travelling from outside the Home Counties or even from abroad for the game are particularly upset - rightly so! You cannot blame the clubs, they need the dosh and had to sign clauses that allowed such changes. Another reason to hate Sky!
Christmas this is already a bone of contention between Sky and the clubs/fans as the standard fixtures fall on Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th with Boxing Day matches in between and then New Years Day fixtures too.
So all clubs have 4 fixtures within 10 days.
So if Sky start moving them about it could end up being 4 matches in 9 days for some clubs whilst others may have a bigger gap and play 4 over 12 days for example if theirs get shifted back a day or two.
There are also rumours Sky are still considering their usual move of matches from Saturday to Sunday which means clubs who are due to play on Saturday 23rd could end up playing on Christmas Eve! Can't recall that happening at all in recent times off the top of my head. A Busy day to expect fans to travel about.
Then they would be playing again on Boxing Day!
For Saturday 23rd fixtures they would be better off moving 1 to Friday night then having a Saturday lunch time and even both a 5.15 and 7.45 kick off if need be (in the Premier League)
