It came up slightly in another thread but it really is amazing to see how much our players are now worth.
We had a 5-10 year period where we rarely sold a player and all we did was pay off either mercenaries (Bosingwa etc) or pay off terrible signings (Borysiuk etc)
Now we've really turned the corner. We've already in recent years sold Smithies, Freeman, Furlong and obviously Eze.
But looking at the current squad it has gone to another level. How much is it worth? How much do you value each player?
Personally I see 5 players that would demand big money:
Dieng Dickie Chair Willock Dykes
Behind them the likes of de Wijs, Dozzell, Amos etc could all become hot property if they can fulfil their potential/stay injury free.
I would go with (my own view)
Dieng - £10 million Dickie - £20 million (start the bidding) Chair - £10-15 million Willock - £10-15 million by the end of the season Dykes - £10 million (and rising. Strikers demand big fees, he's only improving)
So we have £50-60 million of talent. Or do you think it is more or less?

Have to go:
Dieng - £12-15m (because I really rate him as a goalie in the modern game) Dickie - £20m (possibly even cheap at that price) Chair - £10-15m (but recognise there are few sides that he will immediately fit into) Willock - £10-15m (and indeed will hit the top end by the end of the season) Dykes - £10-£12m (and will also rise even higher as he improves his finishing)
Today the club are stated to have put a £12m price tag on Dieng. That may be a case of trying to put clubs off buying him, but I do think that is a realistic value.

Dieng: they want 12 million but would get between 6-8 million i think Dickie: 8 million (we bought him for 2) 10 mil at a push yes hes playing great but even when charlie was banging em in for fun first spell he only went for 4 million so no way will dickie go for 20 Chair: 5 million 2 small yes great for us but clubs think hes too small Willock: 3 million a good championship player wouldnt do much in prem in my opinion Dykes: not sure possinly 2.75 million- 4 million still a lot of work needed
If we're still in the promotion mix come January then I think kingfishers values are right...you don't let key players go for less when they could take you to the PL promised land
If we don't get promoted but those players continue to perform as they have done then the board will certainly be selling some players at the end of the season and think Tomcats values at that time seem more likely.
Except for Dykes...he is lethal right now...if he keeps it up and gets 20 goals this season then....well everybody wants a proven goalscorer right? Could be more than 10 mil...really depends on his numbers between now and the end of the season.
You are right @tomcat75 , 10 goals and 4 assists in his last 14 domestic matches, and 2 goals in his last 2 games at national level, is hardly lethal. Er.. wait a minute...
I watched the Austria match last night. Dykes was excellent. What was really apparent was how much his first touch has improved, either from balls played into his feet or chest/head height, and killing or laying off the ball received.

I am pleased to hear that as I feel we will have Gray and Dykes up front
