We can prepare off the pitch all we like, but until we stop conceding 1 goal for every 2 shots the opponents have we are going nowhere.
Agreed, and the problems seem to stem from probing runs or balls through the centre - not from the wings (where each of the CBs seem to cover for each other reasonably well). It obviously does not help that Dieng has also gone off the boil in the last few games. I wonder if a couple of good wins will change the nervousness and inject some much needed confidence - which seems to be more important in the modern game! Then we need to work on preventing strikers from setting up camp in the penalty area at leisure.... btw Austin's performance today obviously did not come close to that on the training pitch this week? Is this a confidence issue too?

In respect of Austin I was surprised that Warburton played him as a lone striker against Fulham. He has never played well without partnering either Dykes or Willock. Whilst Austin is not showing the goal scoring form we hoped for its not going to happen if the manager doesn't play him in a situation that suits.
I find some of Warburtons tactics very strange and I question whether there is any planning in some of his decisions or whether it's just a spur of the moment thing. Another example is when he played Thomas as a right wing back and Kakay as a left wing back earlier this season, it didnt make sense. I think sometimes he makes it up as he goes.
I think we need to start questioning our keeper,he’s recently being beaten by shots outside the box,he never seems to run at players who are running towards goal and he isn’t playing nowhere near as well as he was last season there is a lot he does right but he also lets in poor goals,but maybe doesn’t help with 2 slow defenders in front of him

I agree singlespeed. When we lost both Lumley and Kelly the pressure on Dieng to perform disappeared. Having said that a lot of our players have lost the form they were showing last season. Players like de Wijs, Johansen and Austin have all been off the pace this season and we can only hope they all raise their game if we want to challenge for a top 6 place.
