QPR u23s played charlton today. Hall and Cousins both played but it was looking pretty grim when we went 3-0 down at half time. But amazingly a hatrick from shodipo and goals for Grego-Cox and Romeo Akinola(who?) meant we ran out 5-4 winners!
Also worth noting that the u23s have won 8 of 9 games. That is some going and points to something being right in our ranks, dont think we will have any kids coming in to sure up our defense tho! Well done lads.
Im sure i read a thread for the kids before but cant find it and in all honesty i thought this deserved its own thread.

Agree with you on that, Shodipo is not a Holloway favourite anyway and he's now behind Wheeler and Samuel - and even they struggle for game time so far!
The link below to the U23s game against Charlton tells the story of a side that was 3-0 down at half time, and then went on to snatch a 4-5 victory; but that is not what this thread is about. The game featured 3 of our 'crocks' - Hall, Cousins & Shodipo, and both Hall & Cousins were given 70 minutes on the field before being substituted plus Shodipo got a hat-trick! So we finally have some good news from the physios and, barring set-backs, we will now have an extra defender, an extra midfielder, and an extra right-footed winger. Who will they displace, if anyone?
Grant Hall looks like an easy one as he will return as CB, with Baptiste going to RB probably, and playing alongside either Caulker or Lynch until the Chief is himself fit to play. Cousins place in the team is more questionable. We have a dynamic threesome in midfield that works well - so why change it? I can only see Jordan Cousins coming in for suspensions or injuries. He may well shine once he gets the chance, but I feel he will have to bide his time. That leaves Shodipo. Given the dearth of goal-scoring we are suffering and Pavel Wzsolek's inability at present to take on defenders down the wing, plus his U23 hat-trick, I feel Shodipo deserves a start. I am a great fan of Wheeler but I recognise that Shodipo is ready to prove himself fit for use and fit for purpose. Thoughts?
He has come back form injury so cant expect him to be in the first team already. I susepct our more promising young players would be training with the first team a fair amount to get some experience but from what they managment see they dont have enough just yet

Are you referring to Shodipo? If so QPRsmith then would only say he was a first team player before his injury and had proved himself. It is only a question of whether he is sufficiently match-fit for a Championship pace game and whether he has any little 'niggles' after his U23 game. We need service from the wings and, whilst I was really impressed by Ryan Manning's work down the left on Saturday, we need an effective winger!
I was indeed. For me he didnt prove he was a first team starter but probably did enough to be in the squad which he could well be but that doesnt mean he will be making match-day squads yet.
I feel that Grego-Cox is close to the first team squad but would indeed benefit from a loan out to the right League One side. QPR should be seeking confirmation that he is going to be a viable 2018/2019 regular.
