QPR Prediction Cup - FA Cup 2021/22 - Round 1 - Results

We had 23 entries for the FA Cup... the top 16 scorers make it through to Round 2... let's see who made the cut in what was to be an incredibly low scoring round...
QPR and Rotherham drew 1-1 - nobody predicted a draw and nobody had Ihiekwe as first scorer. Ghost, ranger-boy, ashqpr, Jalfrezi Rs and LurkR had Dykes for a back up point but nobody had the late first goal time (76-90 would have got the points)
singlespeed, MCM Hoop and NoahHoop had Rotherham to score first for a single point
In Match 2 ranger-boy took a big 6 points predicting the 1-0 Fulham win with only daveb, woodork and NoahHoop not getting the 3 points for predicting the Fulham win. Tomcat75 did brilliantly to get Wilson as the first scorer but again nobody had the first goal time.
On to Match 3 and Southampton saw off Swansea 3-2. Only Tomcat75, minxymartin and qprallan didn't predict a Saints win but nobody got the full 6 points for a correct score.
Only NoahHoop got the 0-15 first goal time
That left Match 4 as Wigan beat Blackburn. Only MaxQPR, ranger-boy, ashqpr and minxymartin predicted that for 3 points each.
There were 19 bookings in the 4 games and this was to prove critical as 10 players all scored 6 points...
onenightfever didn't enter a number so gets penalised with the worst goal difference and is out. SydneyR and stoatey were both 10 away and they are the other 2 very unlucky players eliminated. Myself, minxymartin and CutePR all survive by 1 goal difference point.
singlespeed, daveb, qprallan and woodork are all knocked out having failed to score more than 3 or 4 points!
It is the first time stoatey has ever been knocked out in Round 1 but qprallan and singlespeed have now each been knocked out in the first round of the last 3 cups each of them has entered.
ranger-boy was the top scorer with 13 points and ashqpr was next best on 10.

In Round 2 position 1 plays 16, 2 plays 15, 3 plays 14 and so on, as was the case in all our previous cups, illustrating no fixing of the draw and the higher placed players benefit by playing a lower ranked player (on paper!). It is all head to head battles from here on in!
That leaves us with the following Round 2 line up of 16 players still in with a chance of getting 10 bonus points for the QPR Prediction League:

Tie 2: ashqpr V minxymartin
Tie 3: MaxQPR V northwesthoop

The points all reset to zero. Round 1 score and GD only come into play going forward if there is no separating the players in the next round.
Round 2 takes place the first weekend of February and will be available to enter once the dates have been set for the matches
