If the move to Hibs happens he will be back in contention for the Scotland Number 1 Jersey.
cant think of any better keepers than him in Scotland at the moment
maybe McGregr?
Hi judethespringbok and welcome to the Hoops and Dreams site.
If Dieng leaves us for pastures new I could see Jordan Archer becoming our No.1 and maybe he might also be a challenger for that Scottish goalkeeping jersey.
Thanks for the welcome Stoaty
If Dieng leaves i cant imagine the club settling for Archer to be our number 1 whoever comes in will bring someone with them surely?

I agree judethespringbok.
As things stand Dieng is our clear No.1 goalkeeper with arguably Archer second choice, Walsh 3rd choice and Mahoney 4th choice. With only a year left on his contract at the club it's almost certain that Archer won't be given an extension in 2023 and the club will be looking for Walsh and Mahoney to be fighting things out for the second choice spot.
As you have suggested should Dieng leave in the summer then there is a huge decision to be made by the new manager. Like you I cant see Archer getting the No. 1 jersey, because whilst he's an ideal goalie to have on the bench he's probably not consistent enough to play a season. Walsh and Mahoney dont have the experience so I would imagine that whoever comes in will be looking to replace Dieng with a young but experienced goalkeeper. Somebody, like 22yo Micheal Cooper of Plymouth who was League 1 Goalkeeper of the year might fit the bill.
We saw how much of a miss Dieng was when he got injured so whoever they get to replace him will need to be good.
I would have kept Marshall if that was an option, however it seems he chose to try and get back to a first choice keeper back in the Scottish Premier with Hibs. He cant be blamed for that and best of luck to him so if Marshall was off to pastures new surely it would have been a good decision to keep Westwood i just dont trust in Archer one because (with exception of penalty save in a shootout this season he just hasnt looked a good keeper to me and secondly his charachter has been brought up as questionable when having a drink driving issue? is this correct?)
I think Mahoney's performances as stand-in, stand-in, stand-in (is that enough...?) goalkeeper in the Championship prove his competence as suitable for the bench as #2 goalie....
