Final thought from me on tonight's game: Should Amos have come on as a sub instead of Gray? He would have offered more pace breaking forward and greater stability in midfield....
Yes because Willock was tiring too, and we were getting overrun in midfield - so it made more sense to bring on Amos who could offer energy and also some creativity to take the weight off Willock's shoulders.
Warburton obviously thought Gray could come on and win us the game but we didn't have the ball enough to make any use of him.
To be honest though like stoatey just said above, and like I already added on the Barnsley thread, we looked tired and like we needed 5 or 6 subs tonight.
I see that West London Sport are reporting that Johansen's below level performance was due to an upset stomach.
Why did he play then? As Captain he should have been more responsible and done what was best for the team and not played. Warburton could have also been more decisive and played somebody else who was 100%. In games like that it could cost us having somebody who can't give their all. It was noticeable how he wasn't covering as much ground and he gave it away a lot in the first half. In the opening few minutes he didn't track his runner and they had a big opening that Field was able to block.

I didn't mind Gray coming on, I think it was the right call and if he'd got any service he could have got as a goal at the end like he did before.
For me, I think Amos should have come on instead of Hendrick...maybe MW was worried about us conceding again
Dykes was fantastic last night...wasn't he Tomcat!?

It does seem a strange decision by Warburton to play Johansen if he wasn't feeling 100%. Players are always going to want to start and we know that many will play with knocks but the final decision rests with the manager.
What doesnt make sense is that once Warburton went with Johansen and knew he could be unwell why didn't he substitute him in the first half when it was clear he was struggling.
