Let's find out who has made it through to the FA Cup Quarter Finals...
Match 1 saw QPR's annual disappointment. Singlespeed and I predicted that but not the correct score.
Nobody had either of the goal scorers but Ghost, myself, LurkR, e17hoop, Jalfrezi Rs, MaxQPR, ranger-boy, MCM Hoop had the 16-30 first goal time. Only singlespeed had Peterborough to score first but he wasn't even through to Round 2 so all of that was for nothing
On to Match 2 and Everton comfortably beat Brentford 4-1. Only Ghost and NoahHoop didn't predict an Everton win.
Nobody had Mina as first scorer but Jalfrezi Rs, MaxQPR, Rosco Bosco and MCM Hoop had Richarlison and I had Townsend for goalscoring back up points.
Rosco Bosco, LurkR, e17hoop, Jalfrezi Rs, MaxQPR and minxymartin had the 31-45 first goal time
Luton beat Cambridge 3-0 which again nobody got exact, but we did have Tomcat75, LurkR, minxymartin, QPRBex and CutePR all failing to predict a Luton win
Ghost, NoahHoop, Jalfrezi Rs, MaxQPR, MCM Hoop and I got the 16-30 first goal time
The final match was Kidderminster against West Ham which was effectively a battle of who could guess the correct score West Ham would win by. Funnily enough everybody predicted the West Ham win but nobody went 2-1.
It was top Vs bottom between MaxQPR and myself and it was highest scoring match ending 19 all - we would have both won any other tie. Nevertheless MaxQPR had the closest goal difference to edge through and avoid the giantkilling. Meanwhile I just can't catch a break in this game at the moment
The other tied match was ashqpr and minxymartin who both scored 9 but ashqpr was 4 closer on the goal difference to make it into the Quarters.
Elsewhere Jalfrezi Rs scored big with 19 so would likely have gone through anyway but had it very easy with a bye as kingfisher didn't enter.
Rosco Bosco was well clear of @tomcat75, MCM Hoop was comfortably through against NoahHoop, ranger-boy was 6 clear of CutePR and Ghost beat QPRBex by the same margin.
e17hoop against LurkR was a lot closer with e17hoop just seeing off the reigning Prediction League champion who has been runner up and winner of the FA Cup in the past 2 seasons.
Here is how Round 2 ended up:
Quarter Finals:
Round 3 - the Quarter Finals - sees the remaining 8 players going head to head again. As mentioned before Round 2 the winner of Tie 1 plays the winner of Tie 5, 2 plays 6, 3 plays 7 and 4 plays 8. This is the same pre-set draw order as previous cups.
That leaves us with the following Quarter Final line up with 8 players still in with a chance of getting 10 bonus points for the QPR Prediction League:
Tie 1: ranger-boy Vs Ghost
Tie 2: ashqpr Vs Jalfrezi Rs
Tie 3: MaxQPR Vs e17hoop
Tie 4: Rosco Bosco Vs MCM Hoop
The points all reset to zero. Round 1/2 score and previous goal difference only come into play going forward if there is no separating the players in the next round.
The Quarter Finals will use the FA Cup 5th round matches which take place midweek so remember to keep an eye out for them. The Quarter Finals will be open to enter once the FA Cup 5th Round match dates have been set.
