Phase 2 came to an end and it's safe to say a Barnsley win didn't really do anybody any favours.
surrey chad did superbly to call the 1-0 Barnsley win exact. singlespeed also went for a Barnsley win.
Nobody had Quina as first scorer but Tomcat75 did well getting the 61-75 first goal time which is rarely called correctly!
qprallan, LurkR, minxymartin, Jalfrezi Rs, surrey chad, MaxQPR and woodork got Preston's 1-0 away win in Bonus Match 1#
In the end nothing really changed in the relegation or promotion races
Tomcat75 and stoatey are both relegated straight back to The Championship after promotion in Phase 1. ashqpr joins them and will play in the second tier for the first time since 2019/20. This is a first relegation for ashqpr who had managed to stay in The Premier League since first getting promoted 2 years ago.
They will be replaced by e17hoop, daveb and minxymartin. e17hoop pipped daveb to first place on goal difference - the first time he'd been top in the whole phase. Along with minxymartin he is straight back up to the top flight after relegation earlier this season. daveb makes it up to The Premier League for the first time in his debut season. Well done to all 3 who all get a chance to claim the title this season in Phase 3.
Incredibly the points needed for promotion this time would have only finished 10th in Phase 1!
Elsewhere, Ghost pipped MCM Hoop to 5th and gains an extra bonus point for the start of Phase 3 - both maintain their record of being the only players to have been ever-present in the top flight.
MaxQPR was top for all but 2 rounds in this phase and deservedly takes the maximum 10 bonus points.
The top scorer this week was actually surrey chad who scored 9 but he stays 12th in The Championship and will start Phase 3 on -4. Rosco Bosco will be on -2 and myself -6 after a pathetic performance this phase.
Phase 3 is 16 rather than 15 games long as we head towards the finish line and starts on Tuesday against Millwall. There are no play offs this season, it remains a simple 3 up and 3 down at the end of this season.
Remember those remaining in The Premier League all get bonus points from 10 to 1 to start Phase 3 and this is detailed below.
