As we hit the international break I thought I'd collate all the stats in one thread.
To rather sum up that QPR are falling apart...
In the first 29 league games this season we lost 7 - 24.1%
In the last 9 games we've lost 6 - 66.6%
From late October to mid-February we lost just twice across 15 league games... we've lost 3 times in March alone.
We drop to 8th - our lowest position for 23 games, since the end of October.
It is the first time that we have lost 4 out of 5 since November-December 2020.
We have only won 3 of the last 12 league games - a run that came on the back of 4 wins in a row
Barbet
We decided to drop Yoann Barbet and subsequently lost both matches for the loss of 6 goals.
Since he joined QPR Barbet has now missed 21 league games and we've only won 4, losing 14.
Even in 2019/20 he was a key man so why, after 97 games in a row, have we suddenly dropped him now amidst a play off push?
Goals
A QPR stat you wouldn't have expected to read this season:
38 games into the season Luke Amos has the same amount of league goals as Charlie Austin (4) despite making 6 fewer league appearances.
Lyndon Dykes is still our top scorer for the season on 9 goals despite having only scored in 1 league game since October (when he scored 2 against Reading)
Andre Gray missed the chance to become the first QPR player since 2013 to score in 4 games in a row.
Attacking Threat
Considering we are meant to be an attacking team, playing on the front foot, we are not threatening teams enough recently
We only had 1 shot on target in each of the last 2 games.
Here are QPR's Shots On Target stats from a selection of recent matches:
Vs Peterborough - 1
Vs Forest - 1
Vs Blackburn - 2
Vs Millwall - 2
Vs Swansea - 2
On top of that we only had 3 shots on target at Luton, Barnsley, Peterborough (cup) and Coventry.
It is now just 10 goals in the last 10 games and only 32 in the last 27 going back even further.
Peterborough
Peterborough are the first team to beat QPR 3 times in a season since Burnley in 2008/09
We are solely responsible for 33.3% of Peterborough's league wins this season.
They've only won 8 matches in all competitions this season and 3 of them have come against QPR.
It was their first league win since 11 December. The only teams they've beaten since are Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup and QPR... twice.
