We are dropping down the championship like a lead balloon now and this week amazingly there’s less speculation about his job People are continuously going on about him being unlucky with injuries but this winless run can’t continue much longer surely without some action from our board If we lose our last 5 games and finish lower half of the table with the same manager at the start of next season will that feel right or not That would be one of the worst losing runs for a QPR manager to start with if we lose our final 5 games too The whole vibe at the club wouldn’t be right for next season if warburton stayed, season ticket sales would be possibly affected due to our poor end to this season

i think if we lose tomorrow and huddersfield isnt a great hunting ground for us they would of as good as fired him anyway It’s the derby game that I’d say is the one that determines everything a loss or draw and the crowd will be baying But say we put in a good performance and a 3-0 win then maybe we think let’s give him a second chance for next season

WLS suggest he's certain to leave at the end of the season
I still disagree and believe he deserves more time given the job he's done over the 3 years. But it seems the writing is on the wall.
Totally agree! Warburton needed either time or more money to complete the transition to a ball-skilled, attacking side, and he has had neither yet!! In my opinion he needs another season to deliver the goods (or not) and be judged on next season. This one has been unbelievable in terms of injuries to the defence. The one area where I feel he has failed is in bringing in both Austin and Gray, rather than only one of them and a younger and fitter League One striker. As it stands, our failures are in not scoring any goals in fee play - rather than not scoring enough goals to offset those the defence cannot stop!
but a losing run is a losing run if its does end up being 10 games in a row then we lose our first few games next season he would go down as one of our worst managers in history for straight defeats

Not arguing on that singlespeed , only that changing for changing's sake is daft (at best) and stupid (at worst)!
I wanted to mention that other sites I have trawled have the same conversation going on - sack him or let him complete the job. Almost all comments are in favour of him staying - i.e. there is not a groundswell of fan pressure for him to go, In fact it is strongly slanted along the lines of giving him another season to complete the transition!

i also hope he can break this losing streak and then the fans will get off his back for this season but something seriously went wrong this season and lack of firepower contributed to our downfall in the end questions have to be asked as to how a team in such a great positon in january turned into a relegation form team by april you cant just blame injuries other teams in this league had to deal with injuires too

I can't think of any - maybe aside from Luton - who have had as many injuries as us in the last few months. Other sides have had less injuries, and have much deeper squads. Moreover, it's the quality of players that have been unavailable to us - Willock, Dykes, Wallace; now Dickie plus Barbet and all our goalkeepers. We had an exceptional record in the calendar year 2021 because we led a charmed life in terms of minimal injuries. What is happening now is what we have known all along - our best eleven are a match for anyone - but any less than that and we are vulnerable.
Warbs is hands-down our best manager since Warnock and promotion to the EPL in 2011; for those with short-term memories, that's eleven years of tedious mehdiocre or downright rotten car-crash managers (and let's be real, as much as I loved our Wembley victory, we fluked promotion under Harry Catnap).
If Warbs left now, or at the end of the season, another Championship side would snap him up. One with a deeper squad and deeper pockets, no doubt.
As that great Mancunian philosopher Mark Burgess said, it's only when something slips through your fingers that you know how precious it is.

What’s the point of supporting a football team if you know you will only do alright if you don’t get injuries I question our training methods as to why we get so many injuries in the first place Nobody is questioning that warburton isn’t a good manager and I like him myself but we are not winning football matches lately and not a lot since February It is a very difficult situation we are in as people are saying we could give him the sack and end up with a lot worse, warburton wasn’t far off this season getting us in the play offs and as much as our recent poor form has killed off our chances he can’t be criticised for that as he got us very near to a top 6 spot If we had a more clinical striker and creative midfielder we would be in that top 6 now, only mistake made those 2 players should of bought in January but if the board had ambitions they would of supported him with funds to buy them or loan in from the premier league the players required not get crappy Hendrick

Who wrote that article? Based on nothing, utter clickbate and on another planet. Very, very poor journalism.
Edit > Dyche sacked by Burnley after nearly a decade in charge (bonkers decision as he's exactly who they would want in charge if they go down) and can now see us being linked to him too which is again unrealistic (also not our style of football we've built towards) but Lee Hoos was involved at Burnley with him in the past.

This is the point, when looking for a new manager isn't MW's record with us the exact type of candidate we were looking for!?
Yes, this is all very sad and disappointing but MW is probably still the best manager currently available for a club in our position
Exactly! So many of us on this forum (and everywhere else I have seen) see the dire performances recently but see no gain by sacking Mark Warburton. This was a hard-fought draw against Huddersfield who are THIRD side in the league for a reason, and we could have sneaked the win too! Nobody failed to put in a decent shift against the Terriers. Warburton set them up as best he could, given the injuries inflicted on the squad, and they performed well. Now we need more of the same!

Tonight really showed that the team is behind Warburton. He's not lost the dressing room. We came from behind twice. He has stopped the losing run and proven a point too. Hopefully the board see sense.
