The penultimate round of the season ended up keeping things pretty tight heading into the final round...
I was the only player who predicted the 3-1 defeat exact and those 6 points almost guarantee my promotion after 3 years in the doldrums.
Back in the day Austin as first scorer was the source of big points but nobody predicted it this time and nobody had any of the 3 Sheffield United scorers either.
QPRBex, kingfisher, MaxQPR, ashqpr, Jalfrezi Rs and LurkR had the 31-45 first goal time
minxymartin did well getting the full 3 bonus points as Preston won 3-1 away at Barnsley
At the top ranger-boy sees his lead cut from 7 to 5 points, with MaxQPR scoring 7 to move back into 2nd. MCM Hoop, who looked odds on for relegation a few weeks ago is now up to 4th and Ghost drops to 5th. Ghost was top after Match 41 but has lost ground and it perhaps now looks like a 2 or 3 way fight for the title.
At the bottom daveb is relegated back to The Championship. His first spell in the top flight never really got going and he'll start next season in The Championship. He looks set to be joined by minxymartin who needs to score a full 18 next week and hope others fail to score to survive!
onenightfever stays in touch with LurkR, still 4 points behind and it seems certain one of them will be relegated.
In The Championship I am 14 points clear of 4th so it would take a very unlikely set of results to stop me getting promoted. singlespeed has a 5 point cushion over 4th but Rosco Bosco failed to score and has given the chasing pack hope. stoatey, kingfisher, ashqpr and QPRBex all still have a chance if they can nail one good prediction next week.
