ranger-boy headed into the final day with a 5 point lead as he looked to secure the title, we had onenightfever trying to avoid relegation and promotion places left to settle...
Well done to minxymartin for predicting 1-0 to QPR but he was already relegated. onenightfever, kingfisher, woodork and daveb also predicted a QPR win.
Nobody had Gray as first scorer nor the very late opening goal time, so points were unfortunately at a premium - especially as Bonus Match 1 ended 4-0 to Sheffield United.
And so ranger-boy is the QPR Prediction League champion for 2021/22! He ends with zero points but nobody could capitalise and he takes his first title at the 9th attempt. His best finish previously was 2nd in his first season back in 2013/14 but finally he sees gold!
MaxQPR takes the silver medal with e17hoop 3rd. e17hoop has now finished in the medal places 3 times without ever tasting victory. It is a best ever finish for MaxQPR but after being top for 24 matches of the season he will undoubtedly be disappointed!
The main drama on the final day was to be found in the relegation battle as onenightfever managed to score the 4 points he needed whilst LurkR failed to score and so LurkR is relegated to The Championship, just as he was at the end of last season. onenightfever survives by the skin of his teeth on goal difference!
In The Championship only 2 players picked up points. 3 points weren't quite enough for kingfisher and he finishes 4th, behind the promoted trio of myself, singlespeed and Rosco Bosco; we had all spent this whole season in the second tier - in my case it has been over 2 years since my sole phase in Division 1.
woodork scored 3 to take 9th place from NoahHoop but both avoid the wooden spoons, which go to surrey chad - who missed too many matches, SydneyR - who had a disastrous final phase, and Josh Windass - who started the season on fire and ended it as a deleted account.
So congratulations again to ranger-boy who gets a gold star on the forum and will no doubt try to become our 4th 2 time champion next season!!
