Final 2 pre-season matches - Palace & the Stones

Kakay will have to send Zaha postcards if he wants to have any contact with him on Saturday!

I was watching England v Spain (could not get a good QPR match link in Croatia), but seems like a good match for the preferred Starting XI to work on together.
Palace will provide a far greater test for our preferred defence.

I'm barely comfortable with Kakay being our back up right back. Him starting the season as first choice is frightening. We need to get this McNamara deal sorted.

The fact that Kakay started yesterday tells me that he will continue to be in the first team this season...everybody, including Kakay, knows that we are trying to get another RB to start ahead of him and he will be back up. I think he's fine as back up.

He's not great but he's not awful, I think his defending is pretty solid...we don't have any money so the idea that we would have a back up RB better than Kakay is not realistic I don't think

I've already got alarm bells ringing about Roberts...correct me if I'm wrong but I think Beale's first choice is Willock, Chair, Roberts and Dykes....Roberts comes to us with a history of being sidelined with injuries and is already out after one friendly. What do we think about Shodipo starting in that role?

And what about Bonne...for all the talk of fresh starts it's clear that Bonne can expect to be second choice behind Dykes...so once again coming on in the second half for 15-20 if we are chasing the game...is he going to be happy with that?

Like you stoatey I'd like to see Amos getting given a chance further forward, he was in good goal scoring form towards the end of last season and was one of the few players in good form. He has a knack of turning up in the box at the right moment and could benefit from Beale's new system. As a alternative to Roberts I'd prefer Amos to Shodipo.

Agree with all your comments above. We definitely need a better RB than Kakay (remember that Albert was preferred over him last season), but he will do as a backup. Hamalainen can't do the same on left. Up front, this is Dykes' season to prove he can do the job. Bonne has not looked good enough in the past, and Tyler-Roberts needs to stay fit to compete with Dykes to be THE striker.

Palace will prove a real test and hopefully a good game before next week
